Before I mount my Gobi Roof rack ladder, is there anything I should know?
I do not have a roof rack yet, but it will make reaching my roof bars alot easier.
Just looking for tips to ease my installation, and to keep from making meestaks (oops Mistakes http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

No. I installed mine yesterday and it was a breeze. Solid as a rock and will only take about 30 minutes if you have all the tools handy.

Ken,

Did you drill the hole in the top? I did not, as I felt it was very secure without drilling yet another hole in my H2.

Cheers,

I thought about not drilling mine...........
...but when I figured out that the hole would be "outside" of the weather stripping on the back door, I took a deep breath and drilled away.

I've looked at it closely and havn't seen any problems so far.

Hope this helps.....

Hey Ric-2:

I drilled my hole....simple/easy/no problem.

One minor problem with my ladder, at the bottom set screws, 2 of them have chewed marks into the plastic bumper...only noticeable after opening the rear hatch...not a big issue, but the set screws could have been a little bit shorter.

Sorry I am late responding. Yes I did drill the hole. I think I may remove the ladder and try to seal the hole in some manner. Just to keep moisture away from the raw metal. Better safe than sorry.

Ric, thanks for the info on the bottom screws. I will be sure to check them out tomorrow.
