When I turn off car key, I hear a noise coming from the rear of the car. Is this normal?
I also noticed that my oil pressure gauge sometimes reads 0 even though the oil is fine.
Does anybody have similar stories?
I recently installed the new Alpine DVD Navagation system, and it's awesome. /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Yes, the noise coming from the Air Suspension is normal. It automatically adjusts itself and releases any air pressure it may have had during operation. You might here some clicking and some air being released..this is perfectly normal.

The oil pressure gauge should read 0 when the key is in the off position. I'm assuming the key is on and vehicle is running while it reads 0, if that's the case, you will need to take it to a dealer and get that fixed.

What noise? click? clank? describe please.

Oil pressure, have your dealer fix that, its free and I think it is important enough for a trip.

tell us more about the Alpine system. Did you do the installation or did you have it done elsewhere?

OK, so my new H2 is 1" too tall for my garage. Any chance in modifying the factory air suspension to LOWER by deflation to accomodate my low overhead? I would rather not resort to different tires/wheels. Thoughts/ideas???

How about moving the rear roof rack forward? According to some previous posts, all had no problem with front roof rack, it is the rear rack. If it really comes down to it, take the roof racks off, better than buying a new house.
Don't forget to lower the anetenna a a bit, but not all the way.
You can also try to lower the H2 with air suspension, isn't that button at the lower left side of your center console, just below radio, next to On*Star, below transfer case switches (4X, etc..)
If my Hummer H2 can fit my regular size double garage door with 1/2" to spare, so should your H2.

The factory spec. for an H2 w/o roof racks is roughly 78", my garage opening is 77". Even w/o the roof rack I have a 1" problem. Have not been able to 'deflate' the air suspension enough to clear yet. Any other ideas??

I would say it's time to modify the garage door and opening...

we had the hummer dealer install the system.they did a terrific job of the placement of the 6.5 hi
definition monitor.the unit itself ,they placed
under the back seat.
It's really the best out there.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

Please post details. The MDX I just sold had an Alpine nav system and it was fantastic. I've been looking to put the same system in my H2. Where did you mount the monitor? Any chance you can post picture(s) of the install? Does the system include the breadcrumb feature?

KIM,
We mounted the monitor on top of the dashboard, between and in back of the two ac vents.
It's a perfect location for both passenger and driver.
If I new how to post a pix I would. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
