Lighter and 12V accessory plug help

Does anyone know how to remove and install the lighter and 12V accessory plugs in the console? My stereo installer forgot to re-install them and I won't be able to go back to the shop till next Sat. I have the plugs but don't really want to force them back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
