HID Lights (Yes I know I'll get flamed)

I have searched the board and all the HID Kits for the H2 are discontinuned, Not DOT approved, you loose the high beams or are made by FLY-By-Night Company XXX and of very Low quality.

does anyone have a Current DOT approved HID system for the H2 ?

HID for Low beams and Xenon or ??? for High beams

www.thelapd.com (http://www.thelapd.com) sells a DOT approved kit but it's not bi-xenon.

Those two companies both sell HID kits that are bi-xenon. I can tell you that brightheadlights.com is not a fly by night as I ordered from them about 2 years ago and had a good experience.

I haven't ordered from hidtech but they were very responsive when questioning them.

You can always retrofit your H2 with some hella projectors and ballasts. This is the same equipment used on the HID Audis, BMW's and Mercedes.

I purchased some Cibie E Code 7" headlamps for only $100 and put some 100 watt bulbs on them, and that is all the light I will ever need!

I've just about gotten myself talked into the "eyeball looking" bi-xenons.

I am not planning on them anytime soon, but I drove a Lexus with the bi-xenon projectors in them and the lighting is very good. It's extremely clean with no hot or dark spotting.

I am trying to figure out a way to take the eyeball look away from the though.

I have the "eyeball" HID's on a Jeep.

They fit right in the H2 and after you see them a couple times, you get used to them fast. When the time comes for me to pick up an SUT (I'm just researching now) I'll do these again for sure. Haven't checked them against stock H2 lights yet, but they're fantastic compared to the stock Wrangler lights. We took the Wrangler to the H2 showroom here and the sales-guys were asking where the lights came from!

The lights really don't look bad on the Wrangler. There was pic somewhere on her of the H2 with them and they just seemed to jump out at you.

Forget about the stock lights, the H2's stock lights and light buckets are dismal.

I have the retrofitted Hella Bixenons, I love the way it looks and more importantly love the awesome light output.

Sorry for not posting a thread about my new HID Hi/Low projectors sooner. I've got an idea for a picture thread and was waiting for that.

I just recently(last weekend, Saturday to be precise) upgraded my headlights to HID. Since first purchasing my H2 I've been on a quest for better light from the headlights. I've tried PIAA Pure Platinum bulbs and found them to be worse than the factory cheapo bulbs. The next step was Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. For those of you who don't want to spend the keesh to go HID these are the best bulbs on the market. Clean crisp white light, with very little hot spotting. I fully endorse them.
I bought my new HIDs from my dealer for around $800- and it has been some of the best money I've ever spent on automotive accessories.
