I used to have a few jeeps a few years back and they had some great rocker protection that integrated steps into them. I'm not a big fan of Nerf Bars because they hang so low and don't protect anything. So.... I was thinking, if anyone has any pull with any of the H3 accessories manufacturers... or if you are capable of making these, i think there would be a good market for them. The photo below is what i would like to see except the "step" should not be angled that much. What do you all think?

Looks like Amstar should shortly have something to fit the bill: Amstarfun (http://www.amstarfun.com/accessories.php?cat=protection&acc=00015)

The Amstar ones look like they just modified the bracket on the steps to raise them up some. If so, they won't be nearly as strong as the OEM rocker protection.

One of the best ideas I've seen is this custom job on PhilD's H2.

Custom sliders (http://www.*******club.com/tech/sliders.html)

Would be nice to see someone put out something similar.

Interesting, but not sure if it could be done on the H3. The Jeep has about four inches of rocker panel from the bottom of the vehicle to the bottom of the door (TJs in previous years). Whereas, with the H3, the top of the rocker protectors is pretty darn close to the bottom of the door. Putting steps that high might create a clearance problem. (I'm taking this out of memory on a Jeep, and too darn tired to go check clearances with a H3).
The other problem would be this would make the step up as high to get into the vehicle as without the step. When that happens, why have a step?

F5, I know what you're saying but i don't think that they need to be angled at all. the "step" could be totally parallel to the rocker bar. As far as it still being a step... It would still be about 4" lower than stepping directly into the truck, and look pretty trick as well as being functional. I dunno just my 2 cents. Maybe i'll get the rocker protection and have a shop weld a step on there.
