The transmission failed in my 03 H2 last week. Just turned 60K miles, mostly freeway type driving, no towing, no indication of any problems(going down the road at 55mph engine reved up like it was in neutral, no noise, etc.) Towed to the dealership. They said major failure, rebuilt unit would cost $3500 parts and labor. Husband went down to look at tranny and internally it was destroyed. My question: Is there a problem with the 4L65E in this application? Have others experienced this kind of failure?

3yr/36k on the original. A SRTA replacement carries a 3yr/100K if replaced by a GM dealer.

I can get you one for $2250 shipped, but it has a $700 core charge I would have to tack on until you shipped it back. It would be the same GM# 24229176 that your dealer is trying to bag you for.

Mine went out at 16k full rebuild, no probs since "touch wood". Sorry to hear yours won't be covered under warranty damn thats gonna be a hit for the pocket book. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The revving up while in gear has happened to me at low speeds also, but now that I have the SC installed if I were to take it in could they use my SC as an easy out or do they know that they have a real issue with them? Thanks.
