Here is what you are looking for. I copied it from another site:

Four modes of 4WD operation are available on the 2006 Hummer H3. Most common is the 4-High Open setting for normal driving. 4-High Locked automatically transfers power to the front or rear wheels as needed, 4-Low Locked is reserved for serious off-road operation, and Neutral allows the Hummer H3 to be flat-towed.

So what you guys are talking about would that apply to the 5 speed manual transmission on the h3 because im trying to make some choices before i order the h3. i want to order h3 with manual transmission what do you think.

There is 2 different transfer cases available for either transmission. The second has a lower 4 low. It's suppost to help go extra slow for like creeping over rocks and the like. Not too much into the chassispart other than what I've heard of. But if some one wants to know, I'll try to find out.

We had asked this question and as of right now, no 2 wheel drive version.
