I am considering changing both my DRL's and Headlights to something that will give me a much brighter light, without going to the expense of HID. The Silverstar and the Super Whites appear to be a popular choice. I am interested in hearing some feedback on these or anything else that someone might suggest http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you want the look of true HID's nothing will be the same as what your looking for.

I went through the same thing you did. I ended up buying an HID kit.

You can pick up silverstars at walmart. That's where I got mine. I'm happy with them...but wouldn't mind HID's... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have Silverstars but need to replace them every 3 months. They burn out. 1 year warrenty.
I would like true HID like my C6 Corvette

I have SilverStars installed on my H2 and they work just fine for me. They have been on my H2 since February this year and no problems. Way better than the factory bulbs but not quite HID.

Please note that the 3157 bulb is not meant to be used for DRL bulbs, even though it will fit and work - it will burn out easily. The 4157 bulb is made for this and will last like OEM intended it to. This is according to dealership.

Personally, I am not sure what the difference is. This is what a dealer told me after I kept installing the 3157 bulb in there and it kept blowing out. I started using the 4157 and no more problems.

I have seen some companies claim that their 3157 and 4157 are the same...go figure
