I know this has been talked about to death but prices change bla bla bla. I bought my H2 new in 2004 and have almost 36,000 miles. I know I need to buy this before it hits 36,000 or I'm SOL!
Here is what my Dealership is charging:

12/12, 0 ded, $720.00 + $500.00 Hummer Charge = $1,220.00

24/24, 0 ded, $1,625.00 + $500.00 Hummer Charge = $2125.00

36/36 0 ded, $2,136.00 + $500.00 Hummer Charge = $2,636.00

48/48, 0 ded, $3,200.00 + $500.00 Hummer Charge = $3,700.00

Does this sound right?
I'm not to sure about that $500.00 Hummer Charge http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Those prices are normal for GM, but there is another company (Auto Repair Warranty Inc.) that I purchased my warranty from and they gave me a great price and excellent coverage. I put the coverage on my H2 at 39k miles and the price would have been the same at 36k miles.

"Bumper to Bumper coverage (Zero Deductable) for 48 additional months, or 60,000 additional miles which ever occurs first, for $2,199.00 on your 2003 Hummer H2 with 39,159 miles and a supercharger".

Well heres what Auto Repair Warranty, Inc. quoted me. Looks like you got a better quote Dewi. For 900 bucks more I can get the GMPP or for 50 dollars more than ARW I can get WFW 7/125k. I guess it would make it easier if someone with one of these warranties and had claims could let us know if it was seemless or a fight to get stuff done.

Dear Sir/ Madam:

Thank you for your interest in Auto Repair Warranty. Below is our quote as
you requested.

Bumper to Bumper coverage for 48 additional months, or 60,000 additional
miles which ever occurs first, for $2,399.00 on your 2003 Hummer H2 with
33,640 miles.

We are offering a 0 deductible @ no additional cost as part of our Easter
Special ending April 20th!

Please revisit our Website: www.autorepairwarranty.com (http://www.autorepairwarranty.com) Our coverage can be

The 500.00 is a surcharge that they put on all Hummer Warranties under 75k miles, over 75k it is 750.00. They are not bad prices but I can do a little better at the figures in Red.

HoKC, not to bust your balls, but how come gmoutlet doesn't put on 500 dollar hummer surcharge and has better discounted prices on GMPP?

12 mo / 12,000 miles 0 ded / $ 540.00

24 mo / 24,000 miles 0 ded / $ 1,135.00

36 mo / 36,000 miles 0 ded / $ 1,665.00

48 mo / 48,000 miles 0 ded / $ 2,825.00

I'm not sure if these prices are high or not, since GM employees get a big discount on GMPP. However, I went to gmoutlet, and per their information, they save you a few hundred dollars and no taxes if you live out of state.
The guy who runs the Corvette Forum; Ken Fichtner, used to sell GMPP policies to Vette owners for LESS than I could purchase as a GM employee.
I wrote him last night to see if he would sell Hummer GMPP policies, and if so, what his prices would be.
When I hear back, I'll let everyone know.
He runs a Chevy dealer in Montana.

Cool deal fstop! Let us know, I need to pull the trigger before the 8th. I like the lower cost of a 3rd party, but I like the non BS of the GMPP.

I bought it from http://www.gmoutlet.com/quote/emailserver/majorguard/06mg5.htm36 mo / 36,000 miles 0 ded
The cost was the $1,665.00 + the $500.00 Hummer Charge. A very good deal. Saved me around $700.00 from my Dealer.
Thanks DDWH!!
The only problem was since they don't actually look at the milage I was unable to take the trip to Paragon this past weekend! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
The GM outlet guy said it would take a few days to activate and NOT to exceed the 36,000 miles or they would decline the warranty.
Paragon would have put me over the 36000 miles before they activated the warranty! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
So my advice is not to wait until the last minute or you may not be eligable to get it!

Not sure on prices for Hummers, haven't checked, but a few years ago, they were going to sell me a Vette GMPP at less than I could obtain via a GM employee discount.
Should be worth a try.

f5fstop - those prices quoted above are a decent deal. They are listed at only 150.00 over cost to cover our expenses on our end. Ken is a great guy and has good prices as well. He has the advantage in that his state laws do not require him to charge sales tax. I do a lot of stuff on the Corvette Forum under the name of SuperChevyICM. Ask around.

As a side note it is clearly stated on the gmoutlet website that all Hummers are subject to at least 1 surcharge that is at a minimum 500.00 that must be added to the cost of the warranty.

I will remain warranty free and just hope for the best. I'm not paying an extra 2000 - 3000 for something that PROBABLY won't happen. If something does......oh well probably won't cost much more than 3000 http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I "reextended" my extended GMPP warranty last week through Black Ponitac Cadillac (gmoutlet). Allen was great to deal with!

FYI - It was $2700 for 3 years, 45k miles, $200 Deductible.

That takes me up to 101K miles or May of 2009!:)

If I hadn't had sizable claims in the past, I would have saved my money. All it takes is a tranny failure or another blown axle/differential and the warranty pays for itself.

Ok so with the warranties that everyone is talking about, does that cover EVERTHING? I want to supercharge and if the warranty would still cover everything, that would be great. Also, I want to make sure that if I extend my warranty, it covers evrything like GM would. From what I have seen, GM is awesome with warranty work. Thats a major reason I went with my Hummer over a new Dodge CTD. Doge is AWFUL about warranty stuff. I just want to make sure that if my nav screen went on the fritz, or something like that, a NEW unit would go in. i know that some warranty places reserve the right to use USED parts to make a repair!

ASTAR,
Follow DDWH's link and poke around. It answers your questions. In fact, I'll save you two clicks to get to this page:

where it describes what's not covered.

Although it does not say it directly, I'm pretty sure Supercharging voids your engine and drivetrain warranty...

WHAT'S NOT COVERED BE MAJOR GUARD?
Maintenance services (such as engine oil changes), physical damage, glass, lenses, sealed beams, lightbulbs, and tires. Components not installed by the factory including cellular phones, theft deterrent systems, or air conditioning. Exterior deterioration of bumpers, sheet metal, body panels, and parts. Carpet, hinges, trim, upholstery, convertible or vinyl tops, moldings or bright metal. Air and water leaks, wind noise, odors, weather-strips, squeaks, rattles, paint, rust, carburetor, throttle body assembly (except injectors), contaminated fuel system, exhaust system, catalytic converter, brake rotors, brake drums, shock absorbers, and batteries. Everything else is covered!

Hummbebe, this is what I was talking about. It would be interesting to see what they would do in case of a failure. Try to get out of paying saying the 'charger did it or putting in some junkyard used tranny in it trying to get through the warranty peroid. Or if something happened to something like the nav screen or the air-ride air compressor, what they would do, how they would handle it.
I once had a Chvey truck and had bought an aftermarket warranty for it. The transmission went out and they jerked me around for 4 weeks before I was back on the road! I ended up paying the difference between the "used" tranny and having mine rebuilt. I was soooo mad and I swore I'd never buy an aftermarket warranty again!

Ahhh, I get it. Sorry.

After what I saw Old Hiker go through in Reno at the dealership, and having to wait 48 hours for a GMPP adjustor to show up and give the OK on the repairs, I'd say the warranty service you receive from HUMMER is going to be very different from that of a third party warranty company.

So I guess it makes sense for cost to drive that decision. It's gonna suck no matter what :giggling: ;)

Just got a GMPP extended warranty through gmoutlet - $200 ded, 3 yr/30,000 for $1500. VERY happy. Took 20 mins on the phone.

They don't list 2003-2004 prices on their website.

Don't procrastinate, btw. I could have saved $50 if I paid by check (takes a few days) instead of CC. My warranty expires tomorrow. :)

My 05 SUT is a GM buyback. GM extended the existing 3/36K warranty another year and 12K miles. Do I still have to buy an extended warranty before the 3/36K is up? I wouldn't think so, but I carry a jar of Vaseline whenever I deal with dealers & warranties.:violin:

Also, I am eligible for GM supplier discounts. Do these apply to to extended warranties? Will the savings, if any, be better than the prices offered at the the Black Pontiac Cadillac web site, which, btw, is now out of date.

Thanks!:beerchug:
