Hey all!

We were just installing to a another Hummer (mine next) a Kenwood receiver and Navigation box. Got everything right, but no source picture from NAv system or DVD???

Sounds, radio, screen etc all are working fone but no picture from the DVD or NAV source.

Anybody any idea what's up? Or do we have something sut up wrong?

Thanks!

Could you specify a little bit? Why do I need any switch?

Thanks!!!

it is DDX 7025 which is pretty much identical to the DDX 7015 in US.

I do not understand why would I need anything there because the DVD signal comes directly internally from DVD-player and NAV signal comes directly from the NAV unit. Nothing to do with the vehicle what so ever.

Hi W1N

No to sound stupid, but I have the same radio.

Do you get any information on the screen ?? Or is the screen Black ??

If you have like "normal" radio control or dvd control then it's just a matter of selecting the right view mode, you do this by pressing a button on the head unit.

I don't remember what's written on it right now, but I do believe it's a little silver/grey thing on the lower left side off the head unit.

I will have a look tomorrow, when I'm installing the same unit in my new Hummer (collected today http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

It's a great unit, and there should be no problem with it

did you press the video select button to change from one source to another? Also, goto your main menu screen, to make sure you have your screen options set to nav... then to dvd. See your manual............. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

if your getting sound with no picture from your dvd, make sure you ground out the green wire to bypass the parking switch. Otherwise, do what kodiakz said.....

I know that like three shops took a look at it and none can get the picture out of it. The screen seems to work fine. I mean you can get the other screen features fine except the DVD and NAV feeds. Like I said sound comes ok, but no picture!

Install shops keep saying the green wire is grounded the right way, but I haven't chacked that yet.

Doesn't it mean that I've had it in the right mode when the sound of that source is coming ok?

Thanks!

Why ground out the green wire to bypass the parking switch and why would I do what kodiakz said, I mean why would I need any modules?

Thanks!

There is a botton on the face of the radio that switches what is shown on the screen. You can select nav, dvd, graphics, etc. Not trying to tell you to install anything else. Look up that button in the owners manual.

The button that kodiakz is talking about is shown in the manual. If you lived closer to myself or kodiakz, we would have had this up and running with one touch of a button. (hint)... check your manual........ http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This is actually not my Hummer we are working, but my friends (as I think I stated defore). So I have to get together with buddy of mine and check this out.

I will be installing the a brand new DDX 8027 code free version in few weeks now to my own Hummer and I pretty sure there will not be similiar problems at all.

I honestly think there is a very logical explenation for this problem, but I need to meet my friend next week to try this out. Right now I'm in sunny Miami on little vacation http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help!!!
