My fuel ecomomy is pretty bad. I don't mind spending the money but stopping every 2 hours on a highway trip sucks. It seems that that my mileage really suffered when I went 3 inches taller with the truck and installed some 37 inch tires.

All highway trip yesterday 210 miles ran out of gas. My reserve lasted 21 miles. My computer and my calculations indicate low 6 MPG. 80-85 mph 6 people and gear. I know the supercharger doesn't help.

If you are running 37s please post what your MPG is.

Thanks

My best MPG was from LA to SAC about 450 miles and averaged 15.9 MPG at 78 MPH average speed. Typically I get about 13 MPG on Highway and combined 11.5 to 12 MPG.

Thanks Kdio

That is what I wanted to hear. Guess I need to send the flash tuner back for a reprogram.

I had MTR's on my truck for several months and my mileage did not drop drastically. 10.4 to 10.6 average, which is about where I was give or take .2 miles with the stock 35's.

Sound like you have another issue. The tuner might be running really rich. How's the engine running?

something is definitely wrong.. you are probably running too rich, i would go with the reprogram.

I would expect a notable decrease with the extra 3" lift. do you have anthing up top??? roof rack wise?? 80-85 is a good clip for the h2, I find that running a bit slower makes a huge difference in the mileage.. your rig is probably downshifting a ton to keep your speed, that devours the gas. I run low 70's and get much better mileage. but i do have stuff up top that decreases my mileage.

2slo,
I'm getting 13 on the highway at 75 mph. In a head wind it will be less. When I run the cruise control I generally get less also. The supercharger did flatten out the highway with less downshifting. Just the torque converter unlocks now. Around town I'm getting maybe 10 to 10 1/2. I am not running a lift or larger tires.

I run 37" Super Swampers and get 11.6 MPG, mostly in town driving, with stock tires I got 11.7 MPG, so no real difference. I couldn't get over how QUITE these tires are, and they look so much better than stock!
Cheers,
Tim

This may be a silly question. BUt did you recalibrate your computer for the taller tires. Otherwise all your spped and mileage calculations are way off.?? 2-3 " more tire height will make a marked difference.

I have a question: Did you put lift on to fit taller tires. ifnot do you have the rear air suspension?

Thanks everyone

My mileage does improve to 9.2 at 70 mph. I am recalibrated for taller tires. I do have a light bar with 10 daylighters. I do have a 3 inch lift kit with air ride.

I HAVE 37IN TIRES, 456/GEARS, SUPER CHARGER, HEADERS, CORSA SPORT EXHAUST, AND SPECIAL CAM
PACKAGE. I JUST GOT BACK FROM TRIP TO NEVADA MOSTLY ALL HIGHWAY DRIVING, HAD 4/ADULTS AND 1/DOG, AVERAGE SPEED 80/MPH AND 600/MILES LATER I AVERAGED 10.00/MPG. WHEN DRIVING IN THE CITY I AVERAGE 9.2MPG. DEFINATELY SOUNDS LIKE YOUR MILEAGE IS VERY POOR.

Is your lift really 3"? I thought the only lift available was a 4" or 6". If so, what is the brand and where did you get it?

Hi...I have a 6" lift and I run BFG 37's and get 10.6. I also installed a HYPERTECH Power Programer. Something is wrong!
