How many of you already have rocks chips on your windshields? Had my H2 for a month and drove 2500 miles no problema. Got whacked twice this weekend in a 12 hour span. With the angle of the windshield I think this is going to be a problem. I'm wondering how much a windshield will cost for these things.

I have not had it happen to me yet (2600 miles), but I am not surpised. The Motor Trend road test noted chips and pitting in the windshield due to the high angle of incidence. It seems like AMG/GM has enough room to have layed that windshield back a little more without sacrificing the Hummer look. I'm afraid it will be a common problem.

The vertical windshield was intentional, they want to keep some of the key styling cues from H1, and vertical windshield was near the top of the list. They know why people want H2, because of H1. I have no problem yet but did hear hits a couple times.

One of my first posts was about this very same topic. I have a wonderful rock chip on the driver's side. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/acclaim.gif It may be repairable since it's not centered and smaller than a nickel; I was quoted $60.00 if they can in fact fuse the chip.

When they put the H2 in a wind tunnel during the early stages, H2 got the record hughest number ever since wind tunnel was used for cars, highest numbers ever! H2 is a revolutionary thinking in modern aerodynamic, square is in. I wonder if they ever put a bag full of bugs thru the wind tunnel and see how many bugs hit the H2, that would be a record too, I bet. Bugs R Us.

Got my first last week. It was a pretty big one too. Although they do cut down on maileage and performance. I can not complin a bit about my Hummer. Besdies if you can not afford the gas you probably could not afford the truck either. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have not taken rock damage to my windshield yet but I do have glass coverage. I purchased it with all of my past vehicles, just to be safe. It costs around $75 per year with a $25 deductible and they recommend replacing your windshield whenever you are uncomfortable with its appearance. In the past, I have replaced my windshields every year or so, just to make it worth it. It has paid itself off so far. Just my two cents. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I had the H2 only 2 weeks when a big rock cracked my windshield which was a bullseye shape. By the end of the night the cracks were spreading all the way down. Non fixable! The windshield threw the dealer was 1,000 total parts/labor
So far so good no more hits! It's not a cheap window but there are glass places that can do it cheaper for $600-700 but I just had the dealer do it.

I felt it appropriate to start from the beginning of the forums so that I do not end up asking a question that has already been answered here.

No question, but I tried to provide insight based on my experiences. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
