Three H1's, 4 H2's, two Heeps, and 2 Range Rovers. The Old Dutch Cleanser Mine, Burro Schmidt's Tunnel, and one serious trail on the way home. What fun! Some pics....

Out in the desert, Jon's H1 leading the pack.

This guy was behind me most of the day, so I only got this one pic of his AWESOME rig...

Parked at the Old Dutch Cleanser Mine. This place is BIZZARE! White, prehistoric volcanic ash that was mined for many years - and there is still tons and tons of the stuff here. The tunnels stretch underground for miles, though only the access shafts are open. The main transverse tunnel is gated off. Eerie and beautiful!

Jen piloted my black beast for awhile....and it got VERY scary! In between the top pic and the bottom one, there is that rock step....she took it a little fast. YIKES! The guys behind her said the right rear tire came several feet off the ground and hung there forever! Damn near a rollover, but she got it under control and finished down just fine. WHEW!

I saved the best for last. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Jennifer is checking out the rear end of this H1 while we were checking out her rear end.......

LOVELY JEN!

Uh, oh. Dead man typing......

Sean w/ view..

The pics of the rock bed do not really show the difficulty of it. We had almost two roll-overs, myself being one of them. Atleast it would have happened in Sean's rig, not mine!! (Thanks Sean for the confidence!!) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I'll be a bit more careful when I pick up my new one!

I wish I'd gotten video of Jon's H1 doing these, but he had the camera. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif BOTH hills are harder than they look here! The little Jeeps down in the distance give some perspective. The bigger one had several Jeeps and trucks try it and fail. The little one, well, they wouldn't even try!

Here's a Jeep trying it...he backed down. Bad cell-phone pic, sorry!

Wanted to make sure to say that this is NOT one of the Jeeps on the desert trip - this was the next day closer to home.

But the H2 did!!!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks again to Jon for the line and the brake tips. He can pilot that H1 of his!!! This pic gives a better idea of how steep the first part of the hill really is - and it is VERY loose, sandy soil.

Looks like there is another run this Sunday Nov 13th to Calcite Mine & Truckhaven near Anza Borrego Desert State Park (San Diego Co.). The run is organized by the psychosquad -- go to their new forum through the SoCalForum link. (http://h2club.org/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=8296099471&f=8756030324)

Well, knothead, http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif we were in California. Up the 14 about 80 miles or so north of Santa Clarita around the Red Rock/Jawbone Canyon area the first day with the big group, then at Rowher Flats OHV area with a smaller group the second day. Where in Cal-ee-for-nya are you?

They really are amazing! You can rub your hand on the walls and it just powders off like fine chalk. So Stomper - when are you coming out to the Left Coast for some desert wheeling?
