I would be interested in changing the exhaust in my 2005 SUT, but I want the pipe to be hidden like the stock one is. Has anybody seen any solutions like this?

Look for the option, "Off-road" tips. That's the common name for what you are looking for. I have the B&B Tri-Flow with the outlet in the stock location. You can usually buy the Corsa brand at your dealer with the off-road tip. Corsa is very popular. Probably because of the dealer connection. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Any half way reputable exhaust shop should be able to give you exactly what you are looking for, in either single or dual exhaaust. If it's not what you want, tell them and have them rebend until it's right!

Ric has it right. I had My performance exhaust shop stop duals right where it was on the stock location and use stock hanger locations.
Ric the package is on the way.

I've had flowmasters on my Z71 P/U as well as my HO... it was definitly louder in the HO, because it is an enclosed body... In the Z71, the exhaust was under the bed, which was not part of the cab body and you didn't notice it in the cab like you did in the HO... I wonder if the SUT would be quieter in the cab like that?

...now did that make any sense at all to anyone?

I have the dual in dual out muffler. Is that everywhere on all years? When I went to the shop they refused to touch it.

Go to http://www.summitracing.com

They have an Edlebrock Cat-Back system for only $350 for the H2 (tips is hidden). I'd pull the trigger at that price but I have no idea what an Edlebrock muffler sounds like. I had a Corsa Sport but I'd rather have something that sounds like a Magnaflow or Flowmaster. But at that price, I can afford to try it at least.

Its $325 actually. Looks like its only a 3" pipe tho.

Question on the Corsa exhaust knowledge with the tips hidden like stock: with the Sport option is it too loud inside? I want some additional sound but not obnoxious like my old muscle car days. Thoughts?

Glenn, the interior noise level of Corsa Sport we had on the Pewter H2 was not too obstrusive but it's not loud like a 50 series Flowmaster. Don't do a Corsa Touring as it is only marginally different than stock (in terms of noise). But if you want the performance and marginal MPG increases without the noise then the Touring is for you.

Have you gone to the Corsa web site and heard the exhaust note? It sounds like a V-10. I prefer the more mellow notes of the Flowmaster or Magnaflow. You should go on all their web sites and compare the sounds. IMO the Corsa sounds like a semi-truck.

If You will go to a performance exhaust shop they usually are able to here what You talking about and help get You there. If You go to a muffler shop it may happen it may not. the performance guys are not looking to do anymore than You want they just seem to understand more what You want. I had no idea what I wanted before dynatech headers and cat back system but, wanted true duals.
Talked to several type of shops and said could not be done. Went to a perf. shop and asked them and the guy said sure I know what You need. I told Him I would be coming back later with a header, catback system and told Him which one. without hesitation he said we need to do a 3" dual off each manifold and bring it into twin flowmaster super 40's. Not louder than 40's but deeper sound He said. He said that they would come out of the mufflers with 2 1/2" pipes because You could not get 3" ovewr the axle just from looking at it but, He felt for sure could get 2-2 1/2" pipes over and in the stock location. Pulled it in and it sounded perfect. You could feel the seat of the pants difference. When I added the header catback system got them from a sponsor and they installed and asked who put the duals on. Told them and they knew them and said they had left everything at the right place for us to just hang and bolt on. So the moral of the story is go to people who are use to dealing with performance mods and You will most likely get what you are looking for. If they are prof. enough like My guy was He said if I do not like it He will change it no charge. He did not have to eat that bill it was better than I could have imagined. I like a louder deeper sound so My guess is if You ran 2 true duals with 50's flowmaster You would get the perf. and the sound You like. But, let a shop that builds and races cars but, own a perf. exhaust to feed their habit and You will most likely come out better.

Taz, you can get 3" over the axle. That's what I have.
