Yes I am a cheap SOB, that is how I ended up with the H2 anyways http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ...I am just wondering if there are any cheap engine upgrades I can install to get some more mileage from this wonderful monster.

I know what you mean. But 19 mpg on the hwy is not THAT bad.

Another very reasonable way to increase gas milage-leave it parked in the driveway!

Draft behind an 18-wheeler. As a side benefit, you'll save your windshield from bugs! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

most of the mods out there claim to increase your mpg, but some aren't exactly cheap. Air intakes and throttle spaces are probably the cheapest. And then there is always exhaust and headers and programming. Like I said, not the cheapest things out there. Just keep the gas pedal off the floor, that should help. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I do not believe their is any upgrade that will give you a return on your mileage investment. If gas averages $1.50 @ gallon. If you presently average 10.3 (which I do), and increase mileage 2 mpg.( which I do not see happening) You are saving apprx 2 - 2.5 cents per mile. so for a $250.00 system you will have to drive 10,000 to 12500+ miles to break even.
Just put the gas in and drive like hell and stop looking at the mpg gauge, it will only make you crazy.

My performance upgrades increased my acceleration response and driving satisfaction. Poor gas mileage is the price you pay for the privilege of driving an H2 http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif.

i noticed an uptick in mileage with my exhaust. but overall is expensive.

see the problem with 'gas saving' upgrades is that they all either increase the performance or the sound of the truck, hence it is a ****load more fun to drive!!! fun driving = poor mileage. and they are expensive. using the "mileage" angle is a great way to convince yourself into buying these products when really all you truely want is a more fun h2!!!

good luck..
