Whos has the information for our H3s?

I'm looking into replacing the headunit prefferible with a double din. I also want to incoorporate a backup camera system to ease with reversing the beast!

What are you all running? And has it worked great for you?

thanks

Mark M,

I also felt that backing up the H3 was somewhat lethal so I had the dealer install a hitchcam with 3.5" monitor mounted in the lower left corner of windshield. So my Monsoon sound system remains untouched, and I don't need nav. Hitchcam works well for backing up and parallel parking into tight spaces.

Also take a look at some good recent posts by fourfourto as he is getting ready to mount a backup camera on the back of his H3 (w/o hitch).

Hi Steve,

thanks for the quick reply. I'll looking into that hitch mount for the H3.

I dont have a hitch yet but maybe i can get the same system without actually getting a headunit; might be cheaper! as for the hitch mount is it possible to get the camera mounted elseware?

Mark M,

Hitchcam (the camera itself) is only for use with a hitch and cannot be mounted elsewhere. Fourfourto's approach without a hitch should work. If you decide to go without a new head unit, then you will need a small monitor like the 3.5" color monitor that I have.

Steve,

How much is the 3.5 display from the dealer?

Mark M,

Don't know the cost of the 3.5" monitor. But if I recall you are near the Pleasantan dealership. They have the monitors on display, so you could ask them about costs.
