On a half dozen occasions I have been driving down the road and noticed that the transfer case indicates that it is in neutral. Has anyone else had the same thing happen?
I do not want to get the dealer involved just yet. Hoping you may have some ideas. Thanks

Albie, you're crazy.

I would take it in, or at least call Onstar and ask them to run diagnostics on it to see what the computer says.

Yes, I had the same problem. I do not remember what the reason for it was, but the dealer fixed it. I probably had about 11,000 miles at the time. I currently have about 28,000 and the problem has not reappeared.

We have been fighting issues with both the switch assembly and the transfer case control module. In some cases a simple reprogram to the module has fixed the problem, and others, replacements... Its the same problem we have been fighting sinc ethis new system was introduced in 99, go figure, the big boys can't seem to build a module to last,lol...
