That's only for One headrest monitor, so two would be $1200. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
I bought mine from JP Customs (http://www.jpcustoms.com) for $1099 for both headrests.

How is the quality of the picture on these Monitors? Can you see the picture from the middle seat? I have seen a lot of monitors that unless you are sitting right in front of the screen you can't see the picture.

I like the monitors. Totally factory look and the picture to me is excellent at any angle.
I know what you mean by some monitors requiring a "straight on" viewing window.

The vizualogic are awesome!!

Nice web site, circuitguy...but I do have to question your offering of the traffic light changer...its just a matter of time before the family of someone who gets t-boned hires a lawyer and fires off lawsuits against the owner, manufacturer, retailer, etc...do you really think this item is a good idea???

Circuitguy
11-11-2003, 01:02 AM
I have removed the item as I beleive it should not even be viewed by the public, I do understand your concern. It was posted for a local law enforcment agency so they could look it over. I will only sell items like this to law enforcement agency’s and such that are authorized to use such an item. I also must receive documentation from that agency to back it up. I also have disclaimers with the listings for items like this. My lively hood and reputation is not worth any amount of money. BIG-C

Where did you get that price?
can you shoot me a tel number?

mikepmorgan@adelphia.net

I wonder if it would be cheaper for me because I dont need the install I will do it myself, plus was this quote for the dual dvd system?

I want both head rests to have the players built into the monitors...so when my 8 week gets older they can both watch what they like at that point I will score the wireless headsets for them

I too need to get something, my wife has spoiled my boy in the grand caravan with the fold down dvd....but i gotta tell ya that thing is a lifesaver for sure..

My son 18months old gets in my H3 and looks around for the baby einstein playin....shrugs his shoulders and says "pop whats up with no dvd?" "get with the program"....ha! nah really he looks around and knmows I dotn have one but he is just starting to talk.

anyway let me know on the above. I want the dual vizulogic dvd headrest system in ebony cloth..could care less about the headphones my boy wouldnt keep them on at his age anyway and I can always score a set later..

No player for that price?? dude that is way high.

The non player monitor only headrests should be 800.00

The cheapest I have found for the dual players is from Trail Duty 1395.00

the ir headphones are 45 for the pair.

there is a guy on ebay selling the vizualogics 1 dvd in the set and 1 passive monitor for 1250.00

trail duty has the single dvd set for 1295.
so unless they were getting over 200 for the install they were jacking you...

the install is simple install the rf adapter between th stock head and antenna. this get the signal audio out from the dvd to your stock system so it will play through the car.
pop your old headrests out pop the new ones in get power and ground to the units (real easy and your done..

Make sure that you guys are looking at the A1000 units with dual dvds. Also check to see if they are verified web retailers as most are not. Vizualogic is very strict in their web marketing policeis and will not honor warranties from web sites that are not web authorized. Also, if you purchase from an authorized expediter, the warranty from Viz is 3 years vs the standard one year.

Yeah 1395 for the dual dvd headrests the ir headphones are 50 bucks and they also make a game controller that has 50 games pre bundles into the controller itself pretty trick.

12-03-2005, 12:35 AM
The kit comes with 2 ir headphones and the game pack (old school!!!) at no extra cost. If the powers that be will permit, I could do a group buy for anyone interested. The price would be less than the 1395 posted. For those that want to save a little more $$, they could just do the single dvd/dual screen setup or the hideaway dvd player. The A1000 systems also come with a pretty decent fm transmitter so no need to hook up a modulator.

I need the dual player set in ebony cloth send me an email with your rock bottom price.

I want to be able to play 2 different dvd's at once for the kids....if this is done and 1 dvd is transmitting through the fm to the cars speakers the only other option for the other dvd is the headphones? do the monitors have speakers in them or no? we will need a Y adapter also right?

basically is there any way to get audio in the car for the 2 players simultaneously?

set me straight on the details bro.wiring play options...these have onscren control also right and 2 remotes come with them also?

no modulator? it comes with an fm transmitter?

so the sound gets received through the antenna on the head?

please explain?

could you give us the install procedure? what wires come with the head rests what neds to be hooked up to what and where? It would be nice to finally get the play by pplay so we know what we are dealing with for the do it yourself install.

Thanks kodiakz

Hey kodiakz post a pic of the dual optimas in there and your dual viz monitors installled ok?

whats the deal with the 2 sdifferent monitor styles or is there only 1 that Viz makes in the 7"?? you happy with them? I also hear they can take more heat and cold temps then the competitors true?

Ya got the ebony cloth in stock bro?
where would they ship from how long to get I am at zip 31522 in GA.

Mabye my boy here on the post and I can gt them at the same time and get a sweeeeet kodiakz deal.

I posted pics of the dual optimas in the "my pics of my h2" section under the title little bling, little schwing, little zing (err or something stupid like that, lol). I can take pics of the Viz setup if you like, I just didn't as I figured most had seen them before. The kit does not have a modulator that is hard wired into the antenna, rather, it uses a built in fm transmitter that works pretty well IF you get the supplied wire close to the radio. Everything you need for install is included, and about the only semi hard part is disassembling the center console to mount the control unit and fish the din cords from each headrest (2 cables per headrest). Prettty easy install actually. Viz will not drop ship, but for an extra $20, they will overnight to me and then i can turn them right around to you with the shipping speed of your choice (prefer FEdEx). I cannot post a public price, but each A1000 kit would be $50 less than the price you posted earlier (plus your actual shipping charges) and that would include a 3 year warranty. I will enclose a copy of Vizualogic's install instructions specifially for the H2 in every kit (pretty well laid out and easy to follow). I will also provide you with our shop info in case you need more assistance installing/operating them. The ebony cloth is in stock.

Sounds good I have an (((((H3))))) though not an H2 what do you mean by removig the console and fishing the wires in ......in what to where? the console controls the head rests does it have to be mounted in the center console? probably the only best place, perhaps under it? there is an antenna off the console? placing it near the head makes the fm reciever work better?

can you describe the install in more detail? sorry for so many ?'s

Thanks for all the help man much appreciated.

Tell me how the wires run from the head rets doen the seat what needs to be done here.

what is the best eay to get power and ground to the console?

kodiakz
12-03-2005, 02:12 AM
The install is easy! Each ((((((H3))))))) lol headrest has one cable coming out of each of the 2 tubes. Run these wires from both headrests to the control box (actually you can easily mount this under on of the seats). So you have 4 small cables to route to the control box (small unit 1" thick, 3" wide x 5" long). The antenna 'wire' is just that--a small wire that you route from the control box to the antenna on the radio (or as close as you can get--the closer the better and it can be extended with any normal wire). Then just grab a 12v constant, 12v switched, and a ground (constant and ground can be tapped under the seat if they are power). Stub out the aux input cables (6" pigtail off control box) and you are done!! The unit transmits on fm and the extension wire carries that signal so the closer the extension wire to the actual antenna wire the better (best is to extend it to the radio and wrap it around the antenna right up to the radio). The nice thing about the transmitter is that you have several different choices of fm frequencies to choose from whereas a wired modulator has only 1. The bottoms of the seats come undone so you can bring out your 2 cables there and follow the other cables routing down under the seat. The headrests are only controlled from the remote pointed at one or the other---short of installing an infrared repeater system, there is no way to control them from the front. Therefore, if you have small kids, you can set the passenger headrest to be the selected source on both and then you or mom can reach accross and change the dvd in that unit fairly easily even while moving; probably couldn't do that on the one in the driver headrest unless there was a front passenger to do so. I have other finishes of the A1000 in stock if you have not seen an actual unit and would like to do so http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I know there will be alot of naysayers but about a month ago, I had bought the headrests with DVD player off ebay for 440 bucks for all.

I knew going into it that it wasn't going to be the best quality but for a 7 and 11 year old, it'll be fine.

Well, for the 12 hour drive to Fla for thanksgiving, I had everything installed. I had my installer set the screens deeper into the perfect colormatch headrests and run the cables inside the rear set covers....

For those that said how crappy they were, bullshiet... they may not be as good as vizualogic but for 1/3 the price (and 440 included the dvd) They looked great.

Ohhhh, and btw, for another 50 bucks, they came with wireless headsets which my installer was impressed because he said that many wireless headsets lose connection if you turn your head the wrong way... these didn't.

So for anyone that is looking for an inexpensive but definitely worth the money keep your kids quiet, the cheap set off ebay works great.

My .02 worth....

NAY!!!! We sell both Viz and Audiovox--the former works and performs great with very little defects. The latter (cheaper) breaks like a son of a b**ch!!!! When we do have the occasional prob with a Viz unit, they quickly advance a new one. When the crappy ones break, I send them in and wait at least a month before they send back a repaired unit. The Viz may cost more than some others out there, but then again a wrangler costs less than a Hummer does!!! There are less expensive Viz units that just don't have the dvd in the headrest and those are every bit as good as the A1000, just not as good at keeping 2 kiddies happy at the same time (yes, you could plug a ps2/xbox into the aux port in the non-dvd headrest units, but just not as convenient) http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

There is a small white thin wire harness coming out of the headrest.

Is the small plug itself white with a black cable, or is the cable white as well? How many pins on that small white plug--should be 10 and the plug should be flat with one row of pins.
