View Full Version : Why H3x?
Maybe this has been posted before, but why on earth is GM producing something like the H3x? I like it, but I don't understand why there isn't a Rod Hall edition, or TEAM HUMMER edition, or a Moab model, or something that highlights off-roadness rather than bling. Maybe they think the H3 is already the best it can be? I mean, if that's the case, they could still offer one that incorporates something like:
-Beaded tires
-HD Brushguard
-Off-road lights
-Winch
-Full Rocker and Underbody upgrades
I just think that maybe they should be trying to produce something akin to Jeep's Rubicon or Sahara models. This blinginess is strange. FStop, you will tell them for me, right?

It's all the Rap Stars' fault!!!
Yes, how about these options too:
5 cylinder Turbo Diesel
Heavy duty suspension kit - dual forward shocks option, adjustable suspension pressure
On-the-fly tire pressure control
Real 4wd shifter in console instead of that freaky push button thing that so many have had problems with. (Including myself, I just prefer the mechanical over the electronic.)
Extended fender wells to accomodate larger tires, like 35x12.5's so the rig isnt dirty as soon as you hit the first gutter pulling out of the car wash! Yes, that is with the front mud flaps installed.
They could call it the BAJA MODEL and charge whatever they want...
There I go again wanting a Sherman Tank that looks as great as the H3!!!
The sad truth is, they would sell a hell of a lot more "bling models" than they would "baja models" What is wrong with these people?
Yeah, I shy away from BAJA for some reason. Is it used elsewhere?
But some of that stuff would be really nice, and maybe just stuff that wouldn't be production-impossible. I always feel Hummer needs to beef up it's image. It's getting better, I especially like the Rescue vehicles (like Red Cross), and I hope they continue to do more.
Really, I'd like to see Hummer sponsor the US SKI Team, and get in on some of Jeep's territory. Of couse, being a ski instructor, I'm a bit partial.

Very good points. I dont like the sound of a "baja model", reminds me of subaru...not a name to get affiliated with. Front locker, winch, hd brush guard- ill take one...oooh a nice roof rack too. We can dream, cant we?:p

Only 3-5% ever take their trucks off-road, go where the money is. Most off-road types won't pay dealer prices and do their own mods. I made money on the Bling man not the off-roader, he just busted my chops when something was broke.
I think a Rod Hall edition would work. Baja would cost a ton to put on a truck

It's like 35% for Hummer owners, according to Susan Docherty.

Hahaha. Would that include the V-12 engine?

I like the quote for Hummer Nation where the journalist said that 8% of all 4x4 owners take their vehicles off road. Where do they get these figures. I know the percentage is low but I don't think it is that low. Guess it really depends on your definition of off road though.

I wonder what the percentage would be if there weren't dealer sponsered events like the Hummer Happenings...
