Excellent. Offroad criteria used to review an offroad vehicle, the way it should be.

(With sarcasm) How could the H3 make this list? First it is not made in Japan (required by Consumer Report), it does not have a third row seat... it has noisy tires, it does not massage my tushy as I drive...
you mean I am supposed to judge Off road vehicle just by it's off road capacity? Surely it matters that the company does not offer a battery powered version getting 78 MPG
I am glad that a decent Mag realizes the H3s ability out of the box

I guess this means the whole conspiracy theory that the 4x4 mags have it out for the H3 is a myth and now you guys can quit your whining!

?For the vehicle that we want to drive every day on our commute, take our friends out to a nice evening on the town??
Don?t? get to excited, this was a best buys list not most capable. Yes the H3 is a great out of the box 4x4 but do you think the IFS H3 with one locker is more capable than the solid front axle Rubicon with front and rear lockers or the SFA Power Wagon that comes standard with front and rear lockers, electronic swaybar disconnect, BFG A/T?s, and a 12,000 lb. Warn winch? I?m no Jeep or Dodge fan but lets be real.
Four Wheeler hasn?t done a test of pure off-road capability in quite a while the "Ultimate 4x4" test was the last one I remember.

All the other stuff in magazines about the H3 is inaccurate and pure BS, what makes this different?! ;) :D

This is good news for GM. As far as consumers report magazine. They have been anti american commie leftists anti union for some time. They hate GM and are on the payroll for Japan Inc.

Hate to be a "been there done that".....but
A few weekends ago I was wheelin with my bud in his new Rubicon (600 miles on it)......and in certain situations I had to wait on the Rubicon.
Most notably very steep gravel inclines in the 45-50' length where you see nothing but sky the whole way up.
I was crawling in 1st and low lock....full tire pressure
He was 1st, low lock, WITH his lockers on 2nd/3rd/4th attempt.
I made it up with nothing but a slight spin at the top prior to the ST kicking in.
I just wait at the top just in case we needed to use his winch. :giggling:

as far as the power wagon goes, I think it's approach and departure angles, especially departure, are going to play a huge role in where it can go and get out of. So yes I do think it's less capable the the 3.

If I needed a full size pick-up. I would want a Power Wagon for sure.
The lockers and the swaybar disconnect rock.
