From the article.........
The only message kids register when they get a miniature HUMMER with their McNuggets is, "COOL! FREE TOY!" This is because they're kids and not agenda-driven killjoys like this particular Times reporter and the people she interviewed for the article.
I love it. If I would of known how much Hummers bother some of these idiots, I would have bought one a lot sooner.:D

its a huge chunk of the fun of owning a hummer, and maybe the biggest loss for buying an H3. Its completely fun. From jeep guys to jacked up pickup guys to enviro's and even other H2ers...
...these trucks get everybody all hot and bothered. until they step into the big truck and take a ride, in which case the big truck gets everybody all relaxed and smooooooooth
I loves it, i do, i do. I need more chrome & a trip to the body shop to fix my rear...

kids love hummers. i'd bet the title to my truck and the right to buy another one if i lost (as in i never get another hummer) that hummer is the #1 selling vehicle-based toy, the #1 brand recognition among young males, and the #1 (by a margin so wide its pointless to consider second place) vehicle at getting boys to run out to the street to stare or wave or grin with glee.
They're cool. Its not an evil thing. Its not a maturity thing (as in later they'll grow up and realize that hummers are evil and bad and laugh about how silly they were as kids). Its an honesty thing. Kids don't have opinions based on 4,000,000,000 piles of propaganda disguised as news, they don't have urges to be cool and opinionated at cocktail parties, and they don't have political aspirations. They soak up life by living and feeling, freely.
And hummer make people feel good (when the hummer is on their side, and kids never stop to think that they might not be. they never view them as "i can't have that" or "that guy doesn't want to give me a ride" or "that isn't acceptable in my social circle"). They just see it, and they are pleased, for they are certain that they are in the presence of something good.

the other group of people that i've really noticed dig hummers are old farmers. alot like kids they wander out and ask about it ...
... and then they ask you to try to drive up some hill that denied their pickups over the years, just to see. And, like the kids standing by the edge of the street, if you can drive them to the top of their hill, they are pleased, as though a 20 year old score was finally settled. Then they tell you to get some slimmer tires and take them hunting next winter...

Mc Donalds must be doing something right. I never eat there but find myself pulling in to get a happy meal with my son. He gets the toy after I am done with it.

The H3x has the body-colored grille with bling grille and nice spare tire cover. Other than that and how they wind up...they look about the same.
