Be aware that these Soundgate adapters have a checkered reputation. They work for some folks, and are nothing but trouble for others. Quality control seems lacking.

Are you able to install the factory 6 disk changer in the H2. I wasn't sure if there is room for it in the console or not.

Scott,

Our Onstar setup is mounted in the dash where a changer might go. Someone on the forum recently attempted to move the Onstar to the mirror, but has not yet reported back to us whether or not it was successful.

Have you had any luck? I know you were attempting to do this.

I am still tring to find one. Hopefully in a week or two I will have one to play with.
Some one one the Avalanche fourm said they call Delphi and they stated it would lockup and they would not unlock for anyone. I am not sure if the vin can be change or not with software, but it sounds like it can be changed if they can do it. what I am going to do is try to change it before it is locked. If the dealer changed you vin in your computer for some reasonand you have XM would it change the vin in the XM or would it lock it up. I think it will change it. I think if it locked it up it would give techs dumb luck and have to replace it just because they change the vin for some reason. I am going to try so I can give them the finger again after saying the UM8 cant be done. We will show them what we can do. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I believe you will be able to do it, if you can find the part. Did you try the Cadillac dealer in California? He at least does try to help out.

I called him about the XM, and right now it is a no-go. He thinks GM's supply is low, so they are on restriction. The only way the dealer can get one is to send the bad one back. He seems to think this will change when GM catches up, and we will be able to order them.

Anyway, I am not too eager to install a CD changer. I would like XM and an AUX connection for a digital music player. Blitzsafe is working on an Ipod adapter that will allow the factory head unit to control and charge the Ipod. Why worry about carrying and changing CDs when you can carry your entire music library!

Anyway, best of luck getting that changer installed! Please keep us informed of your progress. We all want you to get plenty of exercise using that middle finger!

Picked up a 6 disk changer on ebay the other day. Now I have and now to install. All I need is the 9 pin connector on the back which should be easy to get out of a junk yard. maybe next week it will be done. just need time to do it. let you know

Scott,

I'm warming up to the idea of installing the GM CD changer. The problem is that the OnStar is located where the changer should be, so I'd first have to relocate it.

I'm sure we'll get plenty of encouragement to make this happen. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
