I have not once had vehicle envy since buying an H2.

I think i've learned the problem we might have with KYs.

They're cheap. So parents might buy them for their kids off to college.

Just this evening i came across a very muddy yellow FJ (big clods of mud/grass) with 4 wildly stoned college-age puds trying to wash it off in the local self-serve car wash. I asked what they'd been up to, they muttered something about getting actually dirty and how it was a real offroad machine and they'd been driving through rivers and everything. They were in quite a panic to get it cleaned up.

Well the nearest river is about 5 feet too deep for anything to drive through, and my guess with the grassy mud and generally-clean truck (just alot of mud at the lower levels), that they got high and ripped through a golf course or somebodies property.

I realize what a FJ and a Land Rover is, but what is a G-wagon?

Benz's "hummer".

Its an SUV with military origins, and 3 locking diffs (for true 4 wheel drive). Its built, if you find one in good condition, alot better than you might think. A bit of overhang (especially on the rear), and the exhaust is the minimum-clearance point between the wheels (on the outside, right under the doors), but clearance isn't so bad, and if the exhaust was 1/2" higher, you could drag on the frame when necessary. Solid axles front and rear.

Hella wind noise, rickety/rattly truck, but comfy seats and lots of luxury features. STarts at about 80 grand. The looks grow on you, and from some angles its quite strinking.

i think i've discovered where the smashing young men in the FJ were wheeling...

while biking with my son last night, i came across a small baseball diamond with a sunken section (that would hold water) in center field, and tire ruts from home plate to the center field fence.
