Any recommendations for eastern washington off-roading? I'm a newbie to the forum, and just got my hummer a couple of weeks ago.

Pot Holes, just south of Moses Lake - Desert terrain and water.

Plain, just west of Leavenworth - Wooded areas with creeks, river when low (now), snow in winter.

We have a cabin in Leavenworth (Ponderosa). Before I purchased the new wheels I'd take the long way to the hardware or grocery store and go exploring. It's a lot of fun, especially when you don't know what the hell you're doing and there is no help in sight!

Has anybody tried this new OHV park? It's only 100 miles from me in Oregon, so I might take a day trip this spring...

I didn't know that was even out there. The map didn't show much info. other than it's near Heppner.

Maybe we should go check it out!

I'm due west, on the other side of MT. Hood. But Heppner is about as far as Sand Lake, and I wouldn't have to drive thru all the http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Traffic! Biggs Junction is 80 miles. Pendleton is 200 miles. It's somewhere in between, right?

Doc, just came back yesterday from Moses Lake where I had some fun at the Sand Dunes. Ever been there?

The OHV park looks like it is only for kiddie toys - ATVs, bikes, etc...

Here.... try this link (http://nwjeepn.com/WAtrails.htm) for some trails to try out!

Here's another source for some potential trails and trail runs (http://www.az4x4.com/jpr1w.htm)

Haven't been to the dunes yet. My neighbor says I'd love it. One of these days, we should get together and tackle the naches trail... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
