Thinking of buying a extended warranty offered by my credit union on my 2005 h2. It cost around $1000 for an addtional 4 years and 60k miles. Any input?

seems awful cheap. I seem to recall the extended warranty from the dealer was like $3000. I'd really look into who the warranty company is. Post that info on here and you will hopefully get some great feedback on it. This forum is great for helping out fellow hummerbuds.

Yeah, Read the "warranty" pretty careful cause that's hella cheap.

If everything checks out, DO IT!!!!

The years and miles start from the day you take the policy. I have 13 k miles so that would give me a warranty till 73k miles and two more years past factory warranty. It has $100 deductible.

i would do some research into the company that underwrites the warranty. Perhaps google them and see what you come up with. Remember the old adage...if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is.

I would specifically try to get an idea on how well they pay, how timely they pay. Do you have to pay and they reimburse you, or do they pay dealer direct.

it says they pay the dealer direct. I could only find other credit unions offering it. Nothing good ot bad on the net. The company is called members choice. Written out of virginia. Its transferable and you can cancel at anytime with a pro rate refund.

You might want to speak with your service advisor at the dealership you use, or plan to use, for repairs and see if they have had any transactions with this company. Many service professionals have informed me to be wary of aftermarket warranties. Just because the company says that they will pay the dealership directly doesn't mean that the dealership has to accept work to be charged to that company.

It's more expensive, but the GM extended warranty should be accepted at all Hummer dealerships without questions.

I have an 2006 with 16,000 miles, and was at the dealer today checking on the extended warrenty. Up untill 25,000 miles it is 1,400 for an addition 3 years bumber to bumper to bumper, and this is through the GM dealer. After 25,000 miles in went to 2,900 for three years. Hope this helps.
