NASCAR fans rejoice... If you have DirecTV.

A new status symbol for the pro superstar who has everything: Now, get a TV channel devoted just to you.

Yes, it's come to that. Satellite TV provider DirecTV will announce Wednesday that its NASCAR Nextel Cup race coverage next year will include five separate channels ? each complete with its own announcers and cameras ? dedicated to individual drivers...

Hot Pass channels will also try a technological breakthrough that might have potential across the TV sports spectrum. In order to hear all driver-crew radio chatter, any time such chatter starts, the announcers' mikes will automatically shut off.

Each channel will have two announcers, Hill says, who probably will be "rooting" for the driver. So what announcers are going to want to do that? "I have no idea," Hill says. "That's the fun. We're doing something brand-new. We have no clue. What are you doing on Sundays?"

Unresolved issues include how drivers will be picked for the channels ? Fox picks four and NASCAR picks one ? and whether driver-crew talk will be tape-delayed so naughty words can be intercepted. Sirius Satellite Radio will have 10 new "team talk" channels next season ? offering driver-pit talk ? but will use three-second delays to keep any awful things from going from their lips to our ears.

:jump: :jump: :jump:f'ing pisses me off.

I guess we'll be spending Sundays down at the farm now since we have DirecTV down there and DishNetwork up here.

I though comcast had something to, now that's gone as well. They had something through that inDemand crap.

At least I can watch the race and listen to radio chatter on my Sirius since it will be playing in-car audio:D
