Thinking of going with a 6" fabtech and 38's. I tow my boat around a bit (3000lbs) and don't want to run into a problem. What are the negative sides to a lift? I allready have a cold air intake and chip. Will I need to re-gear?

Regearing helps but doesn't cure the problem.

I'm adding a supercharger to make up for my gutless H2 with 4.56 gears for my 38' tires...

Trying to drive the H2 and maintaining 70 mph on the highway is virtually impossible with the cruise control on if you come upon the smallest of inclines.... never mind pulling a trailer.

I love my truck but the thing I hate the most is it's inability to drive on the highway at any kind of speed.

If I wasn't going to put a supercharger on, I'd at least put 4.88's in it.

HTH's,

Mark

i put 4.88 and the supercharger on it with a 6"lift and 40" tires.

it moves along nice on the highway 70mph at 2k rpm

Now there's a GREAT idea. Once the sc is on, I can go to 40's instead of 38's. If you were to wear out the tires, would you do it again?

Do you have pics of your truck with the 40's that I can see?

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread but...

I put a fabtech 6" on mine and currently, im running stock rims and tires (I know, it looks goofy but Im getting bigger tires soon). I did notice that the H2 was working a little harder on hills and I lost 2 miles per gallon with just the lift. I just bought a hypertech to see if that corrects the problem. we'll see. But Gears would have to be in order if you want to do lift, 40" tires and tow.. And a sc would just sweeten the deal.

It looks good but I think I'd want at least a 15" wide tire.... I think 13.5's (IMO) are too narrow for that tall of a tire. (though I'm sure it'll go through mud and snow much better being narrower.

Thanks.... looking good.
