We found this little guy on christmas morning covered in mud and freezing. He was almost dead! He had these terrible wounds that looked like they were a few days old. My wife's parents said that it was the people that lived next to them. They said that the dog had been that way for almost a week and they would not take it to the vet. So my wife and I took him! gave him a bath and took him to the vet to get some repair work done. Nearly $700.00 later here he is. I am trying to find him a good home, but I am starting to get attached to the little guy.

That's the coolest straw I've ever seen. I though my mine were pretty neat, but that one takes the cake.

Two of our five dogs came into our lives in a similar manner. To this day they are the best of the lot - perhaps grateful for being rescued. Things happen for a reason and coming into your life and saving him at Christmas seems a sign that, if you can, you should keep him. He looks to be part Jack Russell Terrier, which means if you do keep him, give him plenty of exercise and lots of toys. They can be a bit destructive if not kept busy. Either way you and your wife have done a great thing and what goes around comes around.

They had to put the tubes in for drainage. There was a lot of infection and dead tissue. He gets the tubes out tomorrow. We went ahead and had him snipped and put a tracking microchip in him. He is like the bionic dog now!

:iagree: with the above that you should keep it. My dog came to me in similar (not as bad as the above) fashion, and everytime I think back, I feel good because I did a good thing:D

I really want to keep him but I have my Doberman and a chihuahua that already stay in the house. They are like our kids and I don't want to take away any attention from them.

Please list the address and name of the original owners that neglected that poor guy. Do they have other pets? Maybe they need a visit and a nice fat ticket to go with their animal neglect.
NICE SAVE! keep the little guy if you can.

Good work...Find it hard to understand why someone would get a dog (or even a cat) just to torture them.

Hey Man, You and your family are great people, If only there were more like us, as you have read in all the above links, alot of us have gotten our pets in the same manner, Some could be worse some could be better, either way you are def a great human.
You should keep him and show him the love your family already has. I lost a Border Collie last March, he was thrown out of a car in the Keys when he was 3 months old, He lived to be 17 and was the best dog I have ever had. The dog I have now showed up 9 years ago on Thanksgiving day. She had sand spurs burried under her mate of hair and a Large comercial fishing hook through her leg, the skin had grown over it. She is a freak but she will love anyone who comes to the house or to the H3's window.
So I think there is a reason why things happen.
Let me also offer you a gift, PM me and I will send it.

We've still have him. My wife has taken up with him pretty quick. We didn't have a problem getting him housebroken. He still thinks the Doberman is going to eat him! Everytime she walks up to him he hits the floor and rolls over. I think he is playing dead. I'm pretty sure that we are going to keep him. We had a few people that were interested in taking him but they all fell through.
