For those that are interested, and didn't get the Pay Per View of UFC 66.

I copied the following from Jayson Emo at Martial-Forums.com in the mixed martial arts forum;

CHUCK LIDDELL VS TITO ORTIZ

Round 1
Tito throws a few low kicks and a straight right. Tito shoots for the first time in the bout. Liddell stuffs and backs away. Both fighters are showing good foot and head movement. Ortiz lands a right hand that backs Liddell up. Liddell lands a left hand that cuts Tito above the left eye. Chuck is picking up the pace. Liddell lands a heavy left hook that floors Ortiz. Liddell smells blood and jumps all over him. Referee Mario Yamasaki nearly steps in but Tito moves just in time. Chuck lets Tito up and finishes the round with a 10-9 score on the Sherdog.com scorecard.

Round 2
Ortiz shoots but Liddell has none of it. The pace slows as both fighters start to pick their shots. Tito lands a right hand and a body kick. Ortiz tries another takedown but Liddell stops it easily. The crowd starts to chant ?Ti-To! Ti-To!? Ortiz lands another straight right hand. Ortiz shoots and takes Liddell?s back. Chuck stands and elbows before he clinches. Good action through two rounds. Sherdog.com scores the second frame 10-9 for Ortiz.

Round 3
Tito continues to work with the inside lowkick. Tito shoots and Liddell defeds again. Tito lands a right hand before backing out. Solid left to the body lands for Liddell. Chuck lands two more to the body. Tito drops levels for another takedown but Liddell stops it and punishes him with punches. Ortiz lands a left and a right that just seemed to upset Liddell. Chuck counters with a left hand that sends Tito to the mat off balanced, looking for a desperate shot. Liddell stepped to the side of Ortiz and reigned down strikes until Mario Yamasaki stopped the action at 3:59 of the third round.

WINNER : CHUCK "THE ICEMAN" LIDDELL

I'm bored with UFC. UFC needs to have a cross-over with Pride fighters. As a matter of fact, I believe Pride is on tomorrow night.:clapping:

UFC signed Crocop.

They tried to put together something with Wanderlei Silva against Liddell, but it didn't happen.

I think there will be more to come with Pride trying hard to break into the American market. I am amazed at Fedor. That guy is vicious. Russian Sambo at it's finest.

Fedor might be the most dangerous fighter on the planet.

Personally, I want to see Mauy Thai Fighting go more mainstream. As far as I'm concerned Mauy Thai is the fighting sport.

UFC aslo signed Quinton Rampage Jackson. They kept going on and on about how Chuck Liddell lost to Jackson. They were making it seem like Jackson was going to sign with UFC and automatically get a title shot. I hate when they do crap like that.

When I go to Thailand I spend a lot of my time sitting at the outdoor rings and watching the local matches. Those are some of the best fighting that you will see.

Mauy Thai = 3/5 mehs. Must be a well rounded fighter to survive.

I agree with what you said. Every fighting sport has its stregths and weakness'. I admire Mauy Thai for the required endurance and stamina. As a form of hand to hand combat it is very effective (though not neccasairly the best). The use of elbows can be deadly. The use of kicking in Mauy Thai is great, they do not use acrobatic type kicks, but instead use them to drive an opponent further away. Which in turn allows the person on the offensive to put his body's momentum in to the next blow, hopefully hurting the other person more quickly. On the flip side Mauy Thai is not very effective on the ground, which in a real life situtation is where most fights end up.

Yep.

To win in MMA, you need to fight your fight (particular discipline), but you must be able to defend against any discipline. If you have no ground game you have no chance. They only use what works.

I don't think it could happen because of the contracts and money involved, but I would love to see Fedor fight Chuck. I don't think Chuck could avoid Fedor's throws. Fedor is equally devastating standing or on the ground.

With UFC acquiring Jackson and Crocop, they are adding to their stable of internationally recognized fighters. They are positioning themselves. Becoming like the old WBA/WBC.

Thanks DRTY you saved me $65.00. The only one left to add is the Forrrest Griffin - Keith Jardine fight. How did Glblwarmer get it for $40.00? We are getting hosed out west.

Not everything in Hawaii is expensive. Just everything else besides PPV.

Hey man are you at Kaneohe?

I had a buddy there, but his name is Chris Jones. Probably a few of them there.

By the way you are so far west, you're almost east.

IMO, that fight was a matter of who got in the first good shot.

Jardine needed that fight. Did you hear Rogan and the boys all talking up Griffin until Jardine capitalized and finished it quick? Then he says "just like we were saying". Yeah right.

Jardine has now established his credibility. He is for real. He did get in a good shot, recognized it, and jumped in to finish it. Griffin is tough and that dude can take a shot, come back and kick ass. Not this time.
