wondering how i can "snug" this spare tire up against the truck a little better, it vibrates and shakes when it gets bumpy and dosent look too "tight" anybody have any ideas how to strenghten this thing? i like the full size spare on the back and it looks cool from the rear but from the side it "sags" any ideas, it would be nice if somebody made somethin for the people that want to run full size spares on the rear w/o lookin kinda lame, im lookin to not only stop the vibration but bring the mount closer to the truck.

It's hard to tell from the pic, so gotta ask is the tire hitting the frame of the tire carrier? This depends on your wheel offset, so that may be why it's vibrating. If it's not, consider cutting/welding the brace until the tire will flush up against the tire carrier frame. I am gonna have to do this myself.

It's a good idea because you will find that most small trailer jacks will hit the tire before they mate to the hitch.

Mine vibrates going down the road as well and it sags too!

I actually had to palce washers on the wheel studs to keep the wheel from pulling up against the studs too far. Once I needed the spare, it was stuck on there and would not come off without beating the wheel studs out of the carrier.

Also, if you tow, you might want to check my posts on towing and having spare get in the way.

i guess the only way to do this is to fabricate a new carrier somehow but , someone may have the answer outside of "fabricating" something but who knows?

mine was also not flush on the bottom, and it was vibrating. i went to lowes and bought (2) 1" round rubber stops and put them on the bottom rail, now the tire fits straight up and down to the truck and very little vibration.

This would work, but it would obvious make the wheel stick out farther. It should however eliminate the rattle.
