A while back someone here had the hinge kit to make the 2nd row seats recline.
I know they had to be ordered from Japan. I e-mailed them overseas but then got busy and never ordered.
Does anybody here have them or know where to order in the US?

Thanks,
Craig

The website in Japan is ( www.Fukushin-ind.com )
I got a response right away when I e-mailed but I went out of town for a few weeks and never ordered when I returned. They had quoted me $295.00 plus $55.00 shipping ( $350.00 total)

The site has great instructions with pictures.
Maybe we all should place one big order ???
Anyway I was just wondering if any of the parts houses have figured this out yet and offer them here in the US to save time. ( although the time frame was only about 10 days from Japan )

Why not buy a set and have a machine shop in the US make them for about 1/3 of the price??

Any updates on where to buy this 2nd row recline set for cheaper? Also would this work on an 08? I presume it would. I cant see spending $300 for some brackets...

That guy above got them for $295 plus $55 shipping $350 total, a group buy should be less than that but I'd probably be in.

Make something here that cost less than the Chinese version? That would be a first.

Having them machined would cost significantly more than that...you'd first have to either buy a set or figure out how to make them and then either copy the set or have plans drawn up for them.

You're not got to get a limited run of these done, including things like springs, bolts, handles, etc. for less than $295. Oh yeah, and I have a set and they're top quality and work as advertised.

I had the opportunity to acquire reclining hinges from a fellow NJ member 3 years ago on my 2005 and regret not getting them at the time. I emailed the Japan MFG last week and they emailed me back stating that they are now using the ebay seller Hummergearsales as their distributor. I ordered it directly for my 2008 through their Hummergearsales.com website and asked and received the ebay Buy it Now price of $390 shipped vs. the $500 they have advertised on their site.

Ordered it last Thursday and received it direct from Japan via USPS AirExpress on Sunday. Installed it just little over the 2hrs as advertised with the appropriate tools necessary - 18mm and 13mm socket bit/wrench with extension bars, pliers and a T30 Torque bit/wrench. I am very satisfied with the purchase right down from the distributor to the quickness of the delivery, to the quality of the hinges and instructions and to the overall convenience factor of the rear seat now.

** Please note for 2008 owners - These hinges will work on a 2008 however, because they redesigned the interior tire well to include storage for the tire jack, you lose the last 2 of the 6 reclining seat settings. Yes, HummergearSales did inform me of that change, however I felt it was still well worth with the convenience it still gives with the remaining reclining settings.

Thanks ledge good info. I said screw it and just paid the $400 for one of these kits from their ebay store. I'll get 3 years of good use out of it on my 08 h2 and then transfer it to another h2 if I get a new one after, if not I'll resell it on ebay, cant beat that :)

Well I did a good road trip doing the Thanksgiving rounds today and I had my 2 teenaged kids (5' 10" and a 6' 2") in the back for the first time in awhile and they loved it. I must say this kit for me was worth the $$ and the effort. Even without the last 2 settings I lost on my 2008, it is still a very noticeable and upgraded improvement in comfort. I even entrusted my oldest in taking the helm on the ride home so that I could experience the comfort from the back seat....what a first that was!:excited:

Chinese version, impossible.

But these are made in Japan so it is possible to make them slightly cheaper in the US.
