Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has made it official, announcing "I'm in" for the 2008 presidential race on her Web site.

The former first lady acknowledged her plans to take the first step of forming a presidential exploratory committee.

"I'm not just starting a campaign, though. I'm beginning a conversation with you, with America," Clinton says in her web message. She announced that she will be holding live, on-line video conferences with Americans starting Monday.

"Let's talk about how to bring the right end to the war in Iraq, and to restore respect for America around the world," she said.

Clinton also doesn't shy away from her widely criticized role in the push for universal health care.

"Let's definitely talk about how every American can have quality, affordable health care," she said in the message.

Early in her husband's presidency, Clinton led a task force to transform the health care system. The policy was never enacted.

"So let's talk, let's chat... because the conversation in Washington has been just a little one-sided lately, don't you think?" Clinton said.

Clinton's announcement, days after Sen. Barack Obama shook up the contest race with his bid to become the first black president, establishes the most diverse political field ever.

Clinton is considered the front-runner, with Obama and 2004 vice presidential nominee John Edwards as other top contenders. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who would be the first Hispanic president, intends to announce his plans on Sunday.

Obama v. Hillary is a loser for both. Each needs the other's constituency to have a chance to win. If one defeats the other, the loser's backers will stay home on election day.

Obama & Hillary: Each is the other's worst nightmare.

Being serious...

The time is coming that women will (and are) in positions of supreme leadership.

I think we should judge the person and not their gender. If you have the qualifications to hold an office and are the one with the best {QUALS} then you should lead.

That being said, what are hers???

Senator for a couple of years... SORRY not enought. Wife of a past president... not a qualification.

Be you republican, democrat or independant, DON'T vote for gender, color, gender oreintation, religion or any other single minded identity.

ONLY VOTE FOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS !!!

To many people are "EXPOLRING" a presidental run who ARE NOT QUALIFIED. Maybe we should have minimum qualifications for president...

SAMPLE:
6 years as a State Governer
or
8 years in US Senate
or
8 years in the US House
or
6 years as a MAJOR US Cabinet Secretary (Defense, State)
or
8 years as a Mayor of a MAJOR US City (pop over 5 million)
or
Retired Military O-8 and above with minimum 8 years in grade

you can continue this list with realistic quals but you see where i'm going

x2

Besides not being qualified, she's just scary. I for one haven't forgotten whitewatergate, travelgate and all the other scandals. I hope the dems find some better candidates for the nomination.

I'm Canadian and I'd like to apologize for The Vancouverite, sometime there so far on the otherside of Canada they lose touch .The Rebel:o And your right we are owned by the french ,I only wish the rest of the country could see it as well AS YOU DO!

Admitting to being owned by the French. You sound like you're from Ouebec. Or you're just desperately sucking up to fit in.:giggling:

You need us BCers to pay upto 80% of your welfare since we have the Forestry, Mining, Fishing, Tourism and Filming industries which accounts for 31% of Canada's economic exsistence while you guys are wittling away at wood carvings selling them at street corners.:OWNED:

I haven't seen a French person in years. They live all in your neck of the woods.:OWNED: Regards DennisAJC.

I was wondering, could we send we all the frenchmen to B C--probably tell them bigger welfare checks in that corrupt socialist NDP shanty town, they all go running and then we could pray for an earthquake--tidal wave combo--failing that just nuke 'em as the land is good for shat and the people are worse :excited:
