So I come home tonight after being out for about 24 hours and my @#$%^&* PS3 is gone!!! Someone broke into my house and stole my god damn PS3. Didnt touch anything else in the house. TV is still there, 70+ DVD's, and the checkbook that were right next to it are still there. All that is missing is the PS3, games and controllers. Had to have been someone who knows me or something else would be missing. Cops are on their way to file a report...but I might be out $1000+ between the system, controllers and games. AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Look at it this way, YOU STILL HAVE YOUR HUMMER....

Sorry you lost stuff. Happened to me twice. Most important personal thing I lost was my BLUEJACKET from the Coast Guard with all the location patches and chit on it (you sailers & coasties know what i mean)

Second breakin I lost $15000 worth of photo equipment.

Islam does have a couple of good ideas in their traditions, like "cutting off of hands"

Do it in public and let the children watch. Just be 100% sure that they are the guilty ones

Damn, that does suck. It does sound like kids or someone you know took it. Hopefully, if it was kids, someones parent is going to do the right thing.

I have had a Van full of surfing and Skating products broken into in VA, all they took was the stereo and camera's. That sucked!

But lucky for me, where I live in FL my street is heavily armed, and ppl know it. We had some random African American come down one night, just making all kinds of noise and hollering at someone. SO when I drew a bead on him I noitced two red dots on his throat and forehead. I went back to bed knowing my nieghbors already had him in sight and under check.

God damn that blows ass. Probably neighborhood kids. Hopefully there's prints. How'd they get in?As of right now my main "suspect" is a friend of my roommate. I asked one of the neighbors if they saw anyone stop by and the only person they noticed was him. My roommate hasn't been able to get ahold of him since...so we will see what happens when we track him down.

Luckily I still have the box with the S/N on it...so if they try to pawn it off it should be fairly easy to find. If they decide to keep it for themselves then it will be a little bit more difficult.

Why doesn't he just bid and win the auction? He could then find out all he needed to know about it and the seller. If it's legit, he could probably explain the situation to the seller, pay the relisting fee, and be out of buying it. If it's what he's after, he gets to send the guy to lockup personally.

Hey Shaggy,

I don't want to sound bad, but where was it you live again? Unless your in some po dunk town. There is always a detective somewhere around on weekends. Also, I don't have the game and am not sure of the value, but wouldn't it still be a Grand theft charge? Whomever it was that answered the phone at the police was just trying to get you to go away.
Even if that isn't your ser# and if you think the other one they have may be yours, still go to the police and keep asking for thier help. Keep going over heads to get what you want. You may be right in your thoughts.
I know even here in our small dep't we have 2 detectives on call. And one handling all zones.

I hope somehow you get it back... The top thing on my hate list is people stealing other people's shiate.

Good Luck!

Not the roommate...or the roommate's friend. All signs point to the neighbor kids across the street right now. It is the only house in a 2 or 3 block radius that has anyone between 10 and 30 years old...other then mine. And they knew about the PS3...and knew the house was empty at the time. Still too conincidental for the cops to care though.

thats simple then man. Take 25 bucks and find one of the kids they hang out with. Ask them if they know ANYTHING..............

if they are young enough you might get one of the neighborhood kids to tell you or rat out one of the others for some green cash......

I had some kids take my GT mountain bike about a year ago. I knew one of the punk ass kids in the neighborhood took it. I went out one day when like 10 of these kids were hanging out.

I said to them "Ok, I'll give any of you guys $50 bucks cash to come and tell me where my bike is or who took it. I promised them I wouldn't let anyone know who told me. The next day there was a knock on the door and one of the kids came by, showed Bonnie where they had my bike hidden in the creek, who took it, and collected his $50 bucks. The next day..........he was out there playing with the kid who he prob took my bike with...........:jump:

I couldn't of replaced my derailures for that............

It's most likely someone you know- like the roommate's friend. Was there forced entry? Everytime I've had something stolen, it was one of those "friend of a friend" situations.

That's one of the things that sucks about roommates, you can hang around with the right kind of people, but you can't control the kind they hang around with.

Before you spend a lot of time trying to find the PS3 being resold, I'd get with your roommate and knock on that guy's door.
