Well it's that time to replace my front hubs, truck has 80,000 miles on it and the wheels are loose. Some one correct me if i'am wrong but i understand that i need to replace the whole hub assembly and not just the bearings.
What do i need to purchase other than the actual hub assembly? How involved will it be to change the hubs?
I am not a mechanic by trade but have built and repaired motorcycles and have plenty of tools, i may have to get a hub puller big enough to do the job.
Also any body have a breakdown of what the job looks like ie. (the parts catalog schematic) for this, pics would be nice as any additional info.

Thanks in advance
Jay

Yes, that is the the proceedure. Kind of "Shadetree" but it will get you by.
In his proceedure he states the only purpose for the axle nut is to keep the axleshaft from drifting in too deep. That is partially true, but the factory manual has a nice big caution about tightening the nut up before putting weight on the wheel. The seal can dislodge if you don't.

For the Hub Assy. try: https://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mfr,CARDONE+SELECT

Do a part search for BCA p/n 515058 Front Wheel, Hub Assy. $186.79

No pullers. Its pretty self explanatory. Pull the wheel off, remove brake caliper, rmove brake disc, unbolt and remove wheel bearing assembly. Put back in that order plus add drink beer.
