I switched mine out w/ JL Audio 6.5" componets in the front, 5.25" in the back and eliminated the two in the very back. Also switched out the tweeters up front. If you are going to put quality speakers in you may as well put in a good quality amp. Then you'll realize that another amp and a 12" stealth box are needed.

I changed mine out to MB Quart PCE-216's, added a JL Audio 450/4 amp. You will not be totally happy unless you upgrade the sub as well. The sub is what truly makes the difference in the upgraded sound, I went with a JL Audio 12w7 sub and a JL Audio 1000/1 amp, in a custom sub box to clear up some room in the rear cargo area. My set up is probably a little overkill for most but it does sound marvelous.

can you guys tell me where the factory amp is located?
does anyone have the amp's size?
is it a 4, 5, or 6 channel amp?
does anyone know what kind of output this thing is putting out.

thanks
i used the search button, but nothing came up.

I have Rockford all around. Components up front, Crossovers are mounted in dash, but can also be mounted inside of doors. Left factory amp/sub for a little extra midrange, why not. Had a custom box made for the SUT that has 2 Rockford 8's.

$900, it was painful to pay for but well worth the cost.

kept the stock amp and speakers i might be wrong but i think the factory Bose amp is in 3 ohms.. you're gonna need to confirm this before adding speakers because i think most after market speakers are in 4 ohms ...as far as speakers i went with Focal for the doors and Eclipse for center and sub.. and the separates came with crossovers.. one last thing, you should really listen to the speakers before you buy

been considering doing a similar ub enclosure in rear windows..

however, got a sill question. What did the installers do to keep the box up and not move around? Basically, what keeps it from falling down?

Sub box was mounted to spare tire rack supports. (see bolts)
