A funny thing happen to me at the So. Cal. Counter Protest (or not)

A fellow S.C.H. Notes that on the driver side rear wheel I had a bungee cord
attached to my fuel line. It then raped around the fuel lines at the tank
(see photo) After the event I drove right to my dealership. When they
removed the bungee it started to leek fuel!! They wouldn't let me take it
home and gave me a loner H2. They didn't think that one of there guys would
have done this but though that it was done at the factory. The dealership
seem to be taking care of me and will check the H2 front to back, top to
bottom. oh by the way my H2 is only 3 weeks old.

Should I make a big stink about this or should I gust be glad that they are
jumping on this right way and giving me a loner H2. I was thinking to ask
them what they would do for me on a tier rake.

I would be really pissed. Just don't know where a big stink will get you unfortunately. A big stink may get you some free service though.

Having a tiny rockchip in the paint is something you can just "moan" about, but having a bungee cord holding up your gas tank and having it leak if removed....Lets just say I wouldn't be allowed back at that dealership.

I bet my man Rick saw that and let you know about it???

I can't F'in believe that!!!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

That may be standard practice for the H1...but NOT acceptible for an H2. It should have at least beena stainless steel bungee cord too!

In all seriousness....something is VERY wrong with that. The H2 is assembled by many people at many different stations. One bogus thing does not mean the whole ride is rigged.

I'd have the dealership put it on the rack and give it a real good look-over!!!

You have to remember, the dealer just buys these things and turns around and sells them. I just wonder if it came like that from the factory or the dealer???

Bungee update

The dealership has spent all day on my rig All the fuel line needed was a missing hose clamp.
What took all day is that they inspected it from top to bottom check out everything then did a front end alignment ( My steering wheel didn't line up right), Fixed a loose roof rack
and are now washing it up.

Bottom line they will deliver the H2 to me at work tomorrow morning let me drive it for
48 hours and if I’m still not comfortable with it, they'll put me in a new one.
They have already found one just like mine and have put it aside.

I think that my sales person and dealership are standing behind me and my Hummer 100%

What do you think

I am thinking that if you trust the service people and you are happy with it then keep it, but if you are not happy, then take it back and get the new one... That will be up to you.. Do what you feel is right...

OK, no one mentioned this but could this have been an act of vandalism by one of these groups or an individual out to make a statement? Isn't it possible this was done after the factory?
