I love it when stuff like that happens. Use to have a Grand Cherokee that the same thing would happen to the windows.

I'm on my second sunroof assembly and it still does that.

Mine does the same, but I notice it only does it if I turn the car off half way during the close procedure.

If I wait for it to close before turning car off, no problems.

Also, it did happen once while rolling up the windows and sunroof at the same time. Probably some goofy polarity issue

Im not sure if this work for Hummers but on my BMW if you hold down the sunroof button for 30 seconds (in close position) it resets it self. Worth a try I guess...... Can you get in the opening to add some grease?

Had mine in 3 weeks ago for the exact same thing. To fix it they took the headliner, cleaned and lubed the tracks.

Good chance the guides may have broke, only part available is A complete sunroof module as far as I know. Had to change many for the same symtoms. If your lucky maybe your dealer has A bad module(as in the whole sunroof assembly) that is bad and the guide you need might be ok. Hope that helps.

I had a Chrysler 300c and my roof did that all the time! It had some kind of sensor to stop the sun roof from "crushing your fingers". The windows also had these sensors.

I would hit the button to put up the windows, they'd go half way up, the come back down....

Ghosts in the machine.

if i just turn off the truck, close the sunroof and hit the global up on the windows, when the windows all hit closed at the same time, it appears that the voltage drop causes the safety feature of the sun roof to stop and then reverse direction. Just my theory on this event. Could be ghosts too....of hummers past...

try to do one thing at a time, see if that helps....if not, take it in...unless the mileage is high, 05 is still under warranty...
