I am working on an old 1966 Chevy Pick Up. Parked it while went to Vegas had no problems. Went to start it today and nothing. I have interior lights and radio. Bought new battery still same. When I turn the key I get nothing. No clicks, nothing other than the dash lights. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

take a hammer and hit the starter, don't bash it just hit it a few times. I am being serious. Every now and then our old truck's starter would hang up somehow and we would do just that.

Tow it to a high crime area, park it with windows down and keys in ignition, hide in nearby bushes, when car thief gets it started, jump in passenger side window.

Also check to make sure battery terminals are tight

Starter. Especially on an old truck. Check leads to the starter. Rebuild it or buy a new one.

open the hood, remove the radiator cap, back old truck up, pull new one in, reinstall radiator cap, close hood....
All for the starter theory.

I would start with banging of the starter(it usually does work and is easy to get to on the oldies.)I would replace the starter If it happens more then once .
If your overhauling the truck get a new battery, cables(neg and positive ) and a new starter. couldnt hurt inspecting the wires on the selonoid(it usally is on the top of the starter and comes with a rebuilt one)
The 442 had starting problem I thought it was from the starter getting to hot. It seems some corosion got in under the sleave of the cable, when I sliced it open the wires were green,My brother made me some new ones with a larger gauge wire.http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifI had no problems for 10 years now
sits 2 months it fires right up http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Thanks for all of the "useful" help. I was in fact the starter.
To those of you that offered "not so useful" help...= :fdance: ;)
