I thought things were WEIRD on the HUMMER FORUM...

BUT

They are WEIRDER at CommerceBank...

My MOM went in a branch today, July 3rd to open a CD for a large amount of money. Their interest rate was 5.7% for 5 or 6 months...

Anyway they would not take her money because the address on her Florida Drivers is a Post Office Box. She lives in the country on a dirt road and her mailbox is 1/2 a mile away and is not secure, hense the Post Office Box.

She can't show them any bills mailed to her address because EVERYTHING goes to the P.O. Box.

ANY LAWYERS here? Is that Legal?

Sounds like she is up to something shady. Perhaps drug smuggling or money laundering?

FWIW -- All financial institutions I've done business with for personal accounts do not allow PO boxes and require identification matching the address. However, I can use a PO box when opening accounts under my business.

You might have her look into getting a different mail box service. For example, the UPS Store gives you your own street address/suite number not box number. This should be sufficient.

She has CD's at maybe 7 other banks opened with the same I.D. and no problems...

Freaking Cracker!:jump:

for those of you not current with florida politics we are really 2 states under one state flag...

South Florida runs and includes the Tampa/St pete area east including the Orlando area to the atlantic.

South Florida has about 70 to 80 percent of the population, generates most of the state money and has the WORSE ROADS...

north florida has almost no people. the only place people live is tallahassee, jacksonville and pensacola AND the GREATEST ROADS in the state.

Florida CRACKERS which live in north florida which are very different from Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and COON-ASS CRACKERS think their S*** don't stink and the world owes them...

You have heard the term " PORK" in politics... well the north florida
Pork Choppers make the DC porkers seem like VIRGIN BUTCHERS...

Of course a lot of what I just told you is "tongue in cheek"

BUT

ITS TRUE...

hence cracker has many meanings

Here is what I think...

Orlando is the most corrupt city in FL. Way to much shaddy crap going on there.

Brevard County is still ran by the "Good Ole Boy" network. You can do whatever you want here as long as you are in that group or have good friends in that group. It doesn't matter what laws you break or what building codes are. A handshake with money in your palm will get the heads looking the other way.
