Lox with the bagel and kipper as a snack later on. Hey RYD, any talk about the hurricane diverting towards Florida? Any local warnings? My family stayed in Miami during Andrew. Nightmare.

This time we are not getting hit. Seems like a BIG STRONG storm...
I survived ANDREW, lost half my house, slept in a travel trailer for 13 months, me and the cat...rebuilt the house stronger then before, crossbraced the end rafters...got galvenized steel shutters...boy are they heavy...
I stayed at another house during ANDREW, only 4 blocks away from mine...after the storm was over it took me 45 minutes to go the 4 blocks to my house...I cried...
the bagel (scooped and well toasted) with LOX & low fat cream cheese and slice onion was excellent...went well with my StarBucks non fat latte... ONLY 45 carbs...
Fried Kippers are hard to find around here...i gotta move closer to the Rich JEWS (brothers) in North Miami Beach...

WTH is a kipper?
I woke up at 5 and had an egg salad sandwich about 6:30. Gross I know, but it was good. I used to rarely eat breakfast on the weekdays. But I eat it all the time now- scratch that, I am eating all the time now.:D
We went to the garden center and got some plants- ground covers and a coupla others. Planted them and then I took a nap- a really long one.:)
Woke up in time for my game to air, you know the NFL, the manly game that the men on this board turn up their nose to in favor of girly talk of Scrubs etc...:D I know the Cowboys won (ofcourse), but the point of preseason is to see what's going on with who. I am pleased so far.

A kipper, is a whole fish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish) that has been split from tail to head, gutted, salted, and cold smoked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_smoked).
Typically, the species is a herring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herring) or salmon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmon), but traditionally it is any fish found in great numbers and caught during its spawning period. Spawning fish are not good to eat fresh and usually arrive in great abundance, thus they are salted and smoked to improve flavor and preservation.
A red herring is a whole unsplit fish. Red herring can be served cold, sliced thinly across the body with new bread and butter or a salad as a starter. In theUK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK) and theeastern seaboard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_seaboard) of North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America)they are often eaten grilled for breakfast, with grilled onions and scrambled eggs...

kipper = fish (sardines or something similar)
Are you kidding me, all this time I thought it was something good. Of course I only heard of it in the SuperTramp song. (take a look at my girlfriend)
Could we have kippers for breakfast
Mummy dear, mummy dear
They got to have em in texas
Cos everyones a millionaire
As for Sunday, its 10:50pm and I am so glad that school starts in the morning here, which means I can sleep in, we are now closed on Mondays and open late the rest of the week. And most important I can cut back my useless employes hours to like 10 and week.
Today was crazy though, we had all the kids come to enjoy one last day of Skateboarding before school.
:jump: Yeah schools in!

RYD, I HAVE to have my lox and bagel (water bagel) with cream cheese, tomato slices AND capers! Used to love it with onions, but not anymore. Kippers are great, too. I used to have kippers in the mornings. Not a fan of gefilte fish though my mom and dad are ...
Andrew ... what a storm. My family had some damage to their roof (water damage on their 2nd floor) and car. They lived about a block from that huge Baptist church in Kendall that lost its entire HUGE roof. Glad to hear that Dean is winding its way away from the states.

Dear RYD,
Should you ever find yourself in So Cal, I, as a member of the "Hebrew Crew" on this site, would be happy to take you out for a bagel with kippeers, capers, lox or whatever the hell else you want on it. It is, after all, your birthright. :clapping:
