World Leaders Outraged By London Attacks

7 July 2005 (RFE/RL) --

U.S. President George W. Bush today vowed the war on terrorism would continue following deadly blasts in London until "an ideology of hate" has been overcome.

Bush was speaking in Gleneagles, Scotland, where he is attending a G-8 summit.

"The war on terror goes on," Bush said. "I was most impressed by the resolve of all the leaders in the room. Their resolve is as strong as my resolve and that is we will not yield to these people, we will not yield to the terrorists. We will find them, we will bring them to justice and, at the same time, we will spread an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate."

Bush also said he has told U.S. Homeland Security officials to be extra vigilant following the attacks in London.

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder condemned the blasts, calling them "perfidious."

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the attacks showed the world. "No matter where such inhuman happen -- in London, New York, Moscow, or other countries -- they demand unqualified condemnation and the unification of all civilized countries in the struggle against international terrorism," Putin said, according to newsru.com.

Pope Benedict said the blasts were "a barbaric act against humanity."

I saw a picture of the bus that the suicide guy blew up, pretty nasty.

I also heard a few people interviewed in New York about getting on subways. They all said the same thing we need to be vigilant like the president said but I know there had to be a couple that really wanted to say we need to profile.

That just makes me laugh but sadly the news media still holds the french up high. Why are they part of the G8 summit again, he is probably the piss boy or the butler.

I heard just a bit ago that the french intellegence has helped a lot in the war on terror. The only intellengence that Chirac has is how to properly toast a crossiant or roll your white flag for storage.

Don't know if this is confirmed or not but I heard this morning that these F***ing cowards weren't suicide bombers. They just left packs there and ran.

I also heard that initially a group posted on a site that they were taking credit for it and that if two other countries didn't withdrawal from Iraq, the same would happen there. Sorry, just caught it in passing the missed most of it. If this is the case, I sure the f*ck hope the leaders of those countries don't bend over for these *******s. They need to send more troops in response to the threat. Keep the war in their backyards, not ours. Lets just hope this is the last time.

Although I am probably hearing the same reports as everybody is (Guiliani sp? currently listening to was 1 block away at the time) said that the bus was a suicide bomber but who knows. The count is still too low to figure anything out.

As for the fries and toast, I guess everyone figured out that they really aren't french. But Nissan and Jamisons Irish wiskey are.

Who ever did this or these attacs seem to be al-queida terrorists. They have their belief that western world is after all islamic people and want them dead. They are nothing more than rats. Even when everybody, every religion and race live in peace they would do all this the same way with different excuse. These guys are brainwashed poor people that have been trained to do these crazy things so that they would get meaning to their lives. Even when not all support president Bush and do not agree all of his policies, I've got few points to lay out

1. No matter what the "real" reason for the war in Iraq, we have and will save thousands and thousands of human lives by tearing down Saddam H.

2. You will never negotiate with terrorists because once you do, the losses and tears are ten time worse

3. Tough business means tough players and how the world is today we need teach zero-tolerance starting from elemtary school. As long as we say, hey it's ok to slip and slide few times we are on the road to liberal hell.

Europe needs to step up and start really working on the world peace by applying the zero-tolerance now that the terrorists are here again (since the 70's).

Every once in a while I hear people saying that if we are attacked again they might take out the statue or liberty. As long as nobody dies or gets hurt (like they do it just to spite us on a day that it is closed) I say send the pieces back to france. And if we do lose our statue of liberty we should go take frances.

Just talked to a friend of mine whose sister lives in London. She just left one of the blast locations about 10 minutes before it went off. Scary as hell to think about. I was glad to see that most Londoners I saw interviewed said that what happened yesterday will not effect how they live their lives.
