Went wheeling with George, Jason, Lenn, and a bunch of other great folks.

Did my first night time wheeling...

Got high centered on a rock. While getting pulled off of the rock the truck pivoted on the frame.

As it pivoteded the passenger side rear window went right into a tree.

Result: Loss of window and body damage.

NOW We're having fun!

Reminds me of Brown's Camp...without the body damage http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Are you still running stock tires?

I now know of at least 3 RR windows breaking while offroad. I think there should be a recall. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

That was too narrow, Charles. You should always carry a tape measure when offroading. It's number 4 on the list of required items. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

You're right.

I think GM obviously did not consider where that tree was placed....

The stock tires are still hanging in there for now.

A much more aggressive tire is in the future... but for now the stockers are holding up very well.

Charles

Glad to hear that you had a good time and that you had a memorable experience. You're welcome back to the funlands anytime with us. You're the first H2 to enter its domain, and with perhaps a little lift and some more aggressive tires you'll be that much better positioned for it's rugged terrain.
We hope to have a snow run there over the next couple of months and we'll definitely keep you posted!

Thanks again George!

It was simply awesome... Now that I've had some sleep and time to rest up some... I am already getting "a little better equipped for next time".

In true hummer fashion.. I think with just a little tinkering... a little lift from Fabtech... a couple of new Superswampers... a locking front diff... a rubber duck UCP... and a winch bumper...

Oh... I guess I should get another window too!

(Until now I actually forgot about the window!)

I'll be ready http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just let me know!!

A winch bumper? Is that cradle getting in the way? Is that why you don't have the winch on in all the pictures?

Hello Ree,

The cradle hasn't got in the way... front and rear winch bumpers are better than a single cradle any day.

Maybe I am paranoid... but I have this fear that sooner or later push will come to shove and I will have the winch on the wrong end.

It's not a problem when wheeling with other Hummers, they can pull me. But when it comes to smaller vehicles... I just sort of drag them towards me... So, I'd like to just do a winch bumper on both ends and be done with it.

Maybe I am getting old.
