Lights on top of the brushguard

What do you think about installing lights on top of the front brushgard? As opposed to right in front of the grill. I think it's cool.

Personally I think it looks much tougher that way. It would also illuminate more because of the increased elevation. Rally cars do not have their lights below the bumper for a reason. It may be only 6 inches , but every inch counts so I am told. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

But why no rear fender flares? Redundant or just scraped off?

I would guess that they do not plan to back up much in the race.

That H2 looks sweet with the lights there, I was thinking about putting some light on my rig, I just might put mine on like that.
I had off road racing lights on my Ford 250 4x4 on the roll bar, and I had the brightest cab light in town, I had to put a shild on them to drive the beem out in front of the truck.

Overkill. Z, you got a beautiful Hummer, don't mess it up.
To the average folks, this one looks over the top, so to speak, no different than, or opposite to that lower Cadi-Escalade-Hummer, whatever you call that thingie. This is one of those things when people on the road point at your truck, you never know they are laughing at it or admiring it. A lot depend on your personality and background. I won't laugh at it, but think twice.

It's all in the eye of the beholder .. I get nothing but positve comments about my Suburban light SUV.. I'm sure there are negitive comments yet never to my face.. which wouldn't bother me any way.. GO for it if you like.

I agree with Phil. Two larger aux lights, such as the Hella 4000 HID's, will provide more usable light than four-six smaller lamps.

Too much, unless you're a sponsored professional, or you live in the extreme sticks. Overkill.

I've seen those ricers, all gangified race cars, driven by Fast and Furious wanna-bees. They put stickers like Marboro, Tech Racing Team...As they drive to their full-time jobs at Burger King. Too funny.

So too applies to SUVs. Nothing worst than seeing an H2 armed to the gills, all spotless, shiny tires, cruising Downtown and nowhere else to go.

Z, there is a lighter side, You can find the balance between "NAWCE!" and "WTF!" It is possible. IMO your H2 is a Beutiful Beast enough. She doesn't need too much make-up! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hell.. I agree.. only need 4.. But hell practical rarely has anything to do with what I do..
Now in my defense 2 of the ones on top are red and blue strobes.. . I guess the 2 piaa pencil beams on the brush guard are too much.. But I do love lights...

I really have a need for them.. I use them on crime scenes.. the 5 lights are slightly angled different directions to fill up a field.

Just for you do't get the wrong Idea.. I just really like lights.. I have 8- to 10 more of the same lights in the garage.. ran out of mounting brackets planned to put 4 alley lights on each side..

or I can go with : " I live in the sticks "

I don't have anything against having lots of lights. I like them. What I did find out was the two Hella HID's put more light down the road than several 100w halogens. Heck, I had six lights on the front of this Chevy at one time. 2 Hella HID's, 2 Black Magic's, 2 Hella FF Fogs

I know.. I ran with four Hellas on top at one time.. I got bored with the look. I went to the modular system I have.. I was able to hide a couple more LE blue and red strobes up top.. Gave me more visual effect at a crime scene.

Most of all I like the look.

I was going to do the same as Buddy's picture - 4 Hella 4000s across the brushguard. But then again less is more. To MAC's & Dennis' point, there is something to be said for doing too much. I am rarely offroad at night and out in the sticks my highbeams work fine. I think I'm going to hold off, the H2 is beautiful as it is.

Speaking of beauty, this morning I dropped off my girlfriend and the door men in her building swarmed the H2. I barely was able to drive away. Then I was driving across town on 57th and a group of Japanese tourists surrounded me at a light and took 100 pictures. I'm still not used to that.

You should see the reaction to the H2 in Japan!

Apperantly, 30+ were sold in Japan as exotics. Never saw one in person, but every news station in Japan has a special "Hummer H2 Watch" segment EVERY DAY for the past 3 months.

These guys love anything American. The Goverment there try to discourage this to no avail.
