HURTS (http://www.ka5cvh.com/downloads/h2.wmv)
I just happened to run across this clip, most of you might have seen it already before, but to me it really gave the shivers, like braking a bone in you leg...

You better delete that link and post a pic of a broken arm or something. The stampede is approaching. Hey, check your pm, too.

Wow, http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I've never seen a broken tie rod before. I hear them coming http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Yes, parts tend to break off roading. it happens to jeeps, nissans, fords, dodges, discos...pretty much every truck thats wheeled. Big Deal, carry spares. It's funny how no one posts their Dana44's blowing up on the trail or anything like that. We're talking about a measly $50 part and 1 hr trail fix...a good failsafe to an expensive rack and pinion steering system if you ask me.

He shot his wife twice because he had 2 flat tires, ran over and killed the largest sequioa in the forest, made the earth's temperature rise by 83.7 degrees, started the war in Iraq, gets 72 gallons to the mile, etc. etc. etc.

OK. What have we learned [no joke]? To the more experienced H2 off-roaders: Is there any option other than carrying spare parts to make trail repairs? Would heavier front end pieces make a difference or is this just part of the normal and unavoidable off-road risk for ANY vehicle?

We have learned to be easy on the gas, traction control can be a detriment, and that Fab Tech is lagging on the beefed up tie rod assembly they are offering.
My favorite part of that whole video is the John Madden commentator stating the obvious about the tires...............no, your not the only one that noticed that http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

It wasnt until he backed into the tree because he couldnt steer that everyone else seemed to notice it. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

DRTYFN, thanks for your constructive feedback! Maybe, just maybe if you had a different day job you could actually be able to spand your time little better than creating those high quality images of yours...

N2ITNSD: Thanks for the solid info on how to avoid broken suspension and other problems. Easy on the gas because traction control can hurt you and heavier front end parts are available. I'm going to do all of that.
W1N: You shudda known. It doesn't pay to mess with the Deity.
