Hey Gang,

I was just up in Lake Arrowhead over the weekend. I was gonna meet a friend with an H1...but it turns out diesels and cold weather DON'T mix well....so I had to head out alone and have some winter fun with the wifey. Just thought I'd share some pics with ya'll.

You know how it is....when your running you just don't want to stop....but I took a few just to show you keyboard jockey's what it's about in the real world! a video to come as well!

This one is called Winter Hummer...it's my backdrop screen on the computer until spring:

you'd think I'd crawl under again?

The picture fails to capture the true dimensions of the road....but this path is nasty, rough, turbulent and ready to swallow almost ANY other SUV whole!! I went up in 4Lo-Locked, rear-locker on, set in 1st gear and my wife closed her eyes. Don't let the picture fool ya, it was steep and nasty....but if ya choose the right path and use proper technique...you'll come through.

Oh yeah...it helps to have one of the worlds BEST 4X4's ever built!!!!! Hell-yeah!!!

Look at the ruts and topography of the trail behind the H2....do you REALLY think a freakin' Volvo or Explorer can through that???

THINK AGAIN!!! cause we're talkin' HUMMER-TIME EXCLUSIVELY

This picture was taken just before heading up to Arrowhead. I can not begin to tell you how important it is to travel with little kids at night. You don't need a nanny when you have the sandman on your side.

My point here is this: I'm haulin' precious cargo. Can you think of any vehicle better then our H2's?

The babies stayed back with the folks when I went offroading....

Your looking at my 3 year old and twin 8 month daughters...as in...by the way. 3-pack of precious cargo. You can't see him, but underneath them was the dog! He'd much prefer we take the Yukon XL...but I can't offroad that huge thing!

Sorry for the long post....but you guys/gals dig photo's.

More great pictures from our Southern California trail-master. I'm surprised you have time for wheeling with twins, plus one; we only have one [Little Vinny] and he's a handful.

Are you hosting those pix with a hosting service or on your own web site? I no longer belong to a hosting site and my personal web site is under construction.

Steve, beautiful family. Most of all, you know what are your most important assets, your family.

Steve,
Great pictures!! Beautiful family!! Glad to see someone else that has actually used their H2 for off-roading. If you're like me, you probably look at all of the other "suvs" on the road and chuckle to yourself. I'd like to see the volvo survive those trails with it's front clip still attached.

I would never say anything bad about your wife or you precious kids! Simply put, I'm offended and upset at the fact you would think that an officer of the law would stoop so low! And I though we were friends.

How about you Zazing? Offended as well I suppose. Can you believe our beloved STEVE would actually think we could stoop so low as to say something bad about his wife or kids........

Your family looks wonderful and you are a very lucky man.............

I was going to say something, but you know, its Christmas and I'll leave it. And you better count your lucky stars. most of the time when I'm called out, I respond......and this one was going to be good...........well what the hell....I'll just say it..............

Tell your wi..................nah You deserve a break. See ya dude!

My better half loved the pictures and would love to join you soon on an outing. But keep in mind, that I am very pressed for time for the next month or two. Just putting an excuse in place before I disappoint ya.

No way Steve, even as tempting as it is when some asks you NOT to do something, I couldn't say anything bad here. They are such beautiful kids, what a great family. I'm not offended though, it's hard to know the person behind the keyboard through a few comments and random jabs of sarchasm.

But I give HeeHaw another day or so before he blurts out something obnoxious. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

SteveR - You seem to be fortunate on many fronts....
Does your wife drive the H2 off-road? Mine has a little and I think she will get bolder as we get out more often.

Dricksar - don't rush that heir thing, lest you come home one evening and find your 14 year old has borrowed the H2 (or any other vehicle for that matter). Buddy of mine had an incident where his 14 yr old daughter came home from school and decided to go for a joy ride in his explorer which she quickly planted through a cinder block wall up the street at the neighbors (and then left the scene). She then denied the incident until an eyewitness materialized. This can happen to any of us, well those of us with kids that can reach the gas pedal....

I try to get the wife to drive....but she just doesnt have enough faith in her driving skills: she's afraid she'll damage the H2 or do something wrong. It could also be my incessant criticism and direction?

I think she was a bit scared and just felt more comfortable with me driving...but I really try to get her to enjoy it too. It helps when I can tell her about all the HummerGals we have getting into it.

This was my personal trip to Arrowhead....now I'll post our first HELL outting; next post!
