I had a cab roof light go out on me. My question is do I have to replace the hole unit? or does the little bulb come out of the housing unit? The parts house has a small bulb for it, and we try every way go remove the bulb with no luck.
Does anyone have info on this? From the looks of it , it looks like I might have to go to the dealership and buy the whole unit http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

which cab light? I have replace two of the front small orange clearance lights . You just pop off the orange lense and put in a #194 bulb. You can get them at napa.

it is the small orange clearance light. is it just the bulb, or is it the unit that holds the bulb. if it is the bulb, how do I remove it from the unit?
Yes , just replace the bulb. You pull the whole unit up , it should pull up and out of the hole in the roof with two fingers. Then out of the bottom of the light assembly , turn counter clockwise the bottom where the wires are attached. The socket and bulb will then come out of the lense assembly . Then pull straight out on the bulb and install a new one . Put light socket back into lense and pop back in hole in roof.

Second picture, does this bulb come out of this housing unit. If so the bulb is stuck in it.

Wrap a piece of duct tape around the glass envelope. Leave a tail on the tape. Pull hard. If it melted itself in, it will come out but you may need to replace the socket if you can't clean it up or if the contacts are broken. It's a simple #168 wedge bulb. The one in the photo is a tinted one made by PIAA, but any clear, cheap 168 will work just fine. Sorry for the tease.

WOW!!!! What a night, as I was trying to remove the bulb, it brakes! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Thank God that I own a mobile Locksmithing Business, so I was able to use some of my locksmithing tools to remove the broken glass that was left in housing unit.
I was able to clean the housing unit all out.
I would like to say thanks for all of your input on removing the bulb, and thanks for the parts number on the bulb.
And by the way you Guys are all GREAT!!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
