saleen779 you will need to access the instrument cluster connector located behind the speedo housing looking at the plug you will find A1 on the left side top row, B1 will be on the left side bottom row need to locate A4 and tap into that wire that is the VSS wire on the 2003 i would think it is the same one for the 2004 but not sure. if my memory serves me it was a green w/ a strip white i think wire
hope this helps

fireman, thanks a mil. the install is complete and he put a switch underneath the dash that i can turn the vss on or off. i also had him put a ipod hookup in my center console. only problem i have is i can't test anything to see if it works because the headunit is locked. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

oh, and KLAUS, thanks for all your help too. your step by step install guide was great! i printed it out and took it to the install place, he mainly needed the vss hookup diagram.

Klaus is Omnipitent. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

There's a rumor that NASA calls him 30 seconds before launch just to be sure. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Sorry, I just read your message.

Yeah, I didn't hook up the VSS signal when I first installed my NAV unit (I did later). I suppose I should update the docs.

Let us know what happens tomorrow!

everything went perfect. car stereo shop actually did the install. $200 to install the nav unit, gps antenna, and i also had them put a ipod hookup that plays through the speakers (not fm modulated). this morning i went to the dealership and they charged me $63 to unlock the nav unit. (but hey i got a free wash) everything works perfectly. Total about $800. not too bad.

Nav unit (with antenna and disc)$550
Install nav, ipod hookup, vss switch $200
Unlock from dealer $63

thanks again guys, couldn't have done it without ya! i'll post up pics in the pic forum when i get a chance.
