Ok so I am new to the forum and have been an H2 owner for about 3 months now. I am going to post my first topic as a rant/rave http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. I bought a factory wrap around brush guard off of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4528643203 that was described as like new. It was finally shipped through UPS after about 3 weeks after purchase. The cock sucker wrapped the brush guard in plastic wrap and stuck a shipping label on it. Well of course during shipment the plastic wore off about 2/3 of the thing and scratched it all to hell and it even acquired a dent http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. Imagine that. I am sure the brush guard was in good shape upon shipment, but with packaging like that, what else do you expect? Here are pictures taken upon receipt http://home.triad.rr.com/alldunn for those that care. I would beat the F*CK out of this moron if I could. Anyway I have filed complaints w/ Paypal and UPS, so we'll see where that gets me...I almost just wished I had bought a new one now. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif Go figure, the first problem I have ever had dealing w/ ebay.

Looks like he sells a lot of stuff. . .have you contacted him to make it right? I think Ebay will arbitrate this kind of thing, though I don't really know. Perhaps the threat of negative feedback might get him to do the right thing. It's a tough break. . . that was a good price!

I'll trade you a standard brush guard which isn't beat to hell, http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Most legit sellers are more than willing to make things right. Let us know how it goes after you contact the seller.

Wow ... relax a little. Sometimes **** happens during shipping! I'm sure paypay offers $1000.00 coverage if it was bought on ebay, so welcome to the forum, take a deep breath and buy another 1 while you wait for the paypal refund claim http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The following came directly from your ebay auction:
PayPal Buyer Protection
Free Coverage now up to $1,000.

I have filed a claim with both UPS and paypal. He has 10 days to respond to paypal or I get my money refunded automatically. Yea I am going to post bad feedback after all is settled and include a link to those pics. I have called him and left vmail, but no response. I appreciate the trade offer, but I really wanted the wrap around...I'll keep you guys posted
alldunn - I think it adds character, bolt it on and driv'ah.

Hey, give the guy a chance to make it right and if he does the right thing just dont give him any feedback. I agree with dug3x3- bolt it on and go. You should see mine after three seasons in the deep mesquite woods of Texas.

Well it's one thing if I f'ed it up myself, but I didn't pay for a beat up brush guard, I paid for a "like new" one.

My brush guard gets dented (not from shipping). Buy some JB weld at the local hardware store & fill in the dent. Sand the scratches & the JB weld filled-in dent with 400 sandpaper. Paint with black semi-gloss rust-o-leum spray paint. 2 hours & $10 later - it's good as new!
You'll probably have more than that invested in managing the claim.

Dear Alldunn,
You've gotten great advice from other respondents. “Give the guy a chance to make it right, take a deep breath, bolt it on anyway, go through paypal/eBay/UPS, you got a great price.” The only thing I might add is that if you can live with the dent, you might consider using a black spray-on pick-up bed liner to coat the thing before installation. I have seen this done on other brushguards & bumpers. The finish looks great and is quite durable. If not, feel free to sell the one you have to me. Hope this helps.

Well UPS picked it up and returned it back to the shipper. As of yet, I haven't received my money. He has until this Friday or paypal will automatically refund my money. I haven't bought another one yet, but I will very soon. I will probably look around on ebay and see what I can find again. Definitely has to be "like new" even if I have to buy a new one. I am the type of person that has to have the best of the best and am willing to pay top dollar for it if needed...that's why we all drive H2's right? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif If anyone has a black wrap around they are about to sell, lemme know.

I have one with a big dent and a bunch of scratches all over it for sale.
I got it on ebay for $50. I fixed the dent, and filled in the scratches with a magic marker.
Looks good as new! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Just Kidding...Sorry, You set yourself up for that one!
