On Friday night my Hummer let me down. It was about 1:14am and I was leaving work. I went to start the Hummer but it wouldn't. The engine cranked but would not start. After a few more attemps, I got it to sputter for about a second or two, but then died. Something I did notice is that I couldn't hear the fuel pump start when I turned the key to the ACC position, so I figure Its got something to do with a dead fuel pump. Any body else have a similar problem? Could it have anything to do with the PassLock security feature. I read that cuts off the fuel if the proper key isn't inserted or something.
I had to call on-star and they flat beded it to the nearst GM dealer. Then that dealer tells me they can't do anything because it has to goto a Hummer dealer. I got pissed so I called GM Canada and the lady tells me that other GM dealers can only do oil changes, but for any warranty work it has to goto a Hummer dealer. Well theres only one over hear and over an hour away. So Now I have to get another flat bed and get it there and on-star won't pay for it a second time.
Any help would be great...

If On-star "flat-bedded" it to the wrong place I would let On-star flat-bed it to the right place on their dime. If you honstly did not know that, why should you be held responsable for a company (On-star)representing G.M. making a mistake??

Check the fuse in the power distribution module under the hood. If it is OK, the relay could be bad. There are several relays that are the same. Swap the fuel pump relay with one of the other relays (high beam headlights, for example).

Thanks for the input guys. I will call my local Hummer dealer at 9:00am Monday morning and tell them that I have a dead Hummer under warrenty and ask them how they expect me to get it there?
I checked the fuse and it was good. I also swaped the relays out and still no fuel pump came on.
Anybody know if there have been other fuel pump issues or was it just the luck of the draw that my fuel pump died?

U should also have an oil pressure cut off so if oil pressure drops the fuel pump stops.
I had one on a GM diesel that had to be replaced atleast once a year.
Klaus, does we have the oil pressure/ fuel pump sensor on the H2?
Some vehicles have an impact switch that stops pump.
As a safety concern it should have some way to shut off fuel in event of a wreck and the engine stops and the key is still in the run position.
I don't know how involved u want to get but u could check for continuity (sp?) at the fuel pump or have Klaus get the relay terminal #s to check from above.

Well the H2 is on its way to the dealer I purchase it from on OnStars dime.
I told them if it can only be serviced at a Hummer dealer, then the OnStar Advisor should of told me that and I would of sent it there in the first place.
Lets see how long it will take them to fix it!
