OldHiker really hates tree huggers and the trees they stand for. So he just deviates from the trail and kills a couple dozen of them just out of spite.

[At this point, I want to apologize to HIHUMMER, Hi-Mo, and Ipedog for not getting more footage of them. You guys were usually way ahead of me and I was generally videoing people either right in front of or behind me for somewhat obvious reasons.]

I get politely envious in threads like this sometimes. i don't think i can find trails and obstacles like this w/o risking getting shot by a local farmer in the wee hours of the morning.
i gotta work on that.

But glad you had fun. I miss Red Ridge coffee in the morning around the fire. But glad you had fun. I even miss feeling like a dork on night hikes to the potty over the bridge with a head lamp on when the boys get to pee where they want. But glad you had fun. I miss waving orange flags and the sound of ATVs. But glad you had fun. I miss mud, rocks and campfires. But glad you had fun. ;):D

Now, wait a minute. I need to get something straight here. Late on Friday night, when Mrs. NJ H2 headed over the bridge to use the facilities, I said to NJ H2 "Good, now I can pee on that tree over there right?" NJ H2 said "If [CP] were here, she'd pee on that tree herself." Are you denying his allegation?;)

Hey All -
The family and I got back last night after a long day on the road. And I have got to say... We had a GREAT time! :D
The Baltimore OHV Group was a non-factor for the most part. We did see them occasionally and did have a couple of delays, but nothing more than a few minutes.
Despite the carnage :(, Saturday at Raush Creek was lots of fun. Compared to Paragon it was a lot more pristine. It looked fresh and new and the trails had great variety. I look forward to wheeling here again. One of the coolest things to happen at Rausch Creek was a local couple with a 3-week old H3 met us at the staging area. They didn't know us and we didn't know them but they had heard rumor that we were coming and hung out in the off chance that we would show. I'm pretty sure that they had a great time because they were grinning from ear to ear all day and you could see they had cought the wheeling bug in a big way.
Monday at Paragon had to be the most exciting day, despite it being low key and only having 4 trucks. I was leading for the day and we had just done Hummer Hill and then the Mountain Top trail when we decided to break for lunch near some big rocks that looked good. Well, I guess someone else decided that they looked good too because when Pops, HI and a bunch of the kids started climbing up the rocks a Rattlesnake started buzzing, saying no way, these were his rocks. I was 50 feet away, at least, and could still hear it buzzing away like crazy! Suffice it to say that we did NOT eat lunch on those rocks!
I've got about 4gb of pics to process. Once I do I'll have them up right away.
I'm sorry CP that you and Ken couldn't make it. We really did have a great time. And to everyone else that did come I can only say thanks for joining us. I had a great time and it was great seeing old friends again and getting to meet new friends. I can't wait to see you all again soon!

We were wondering how we were going to deal with this...
Ideas like peeing on the bumper or writing "where's the mud?" were thrown about but we didn't do anything about it...
However, the next morning the best thing happened. Somehow (and I honestly don't know how) Mr. H2 RESQ's Rubi wouldn't start. Seeing as we were the only folks in the parking lot at the time Mr. H2 RESQ just happened to be rescued by an H2. DOn't you just love the irony! :D:D:D

Interestingly enough this is the only Jeep I have ever seen wearing shields. And he had them everywhere. Hood, fenders, sides... you name it. If it was steel he had a magnet on it.
I like the idea for the hood. I might have to do that.

Paragon's newest way of trail ratings:
Close the "easy" approach, make everyone take the hard line to get in. The group survey's the route. 20 minutes later we had the group (minus a non UCP truck) up to the actual trail entrance.

Oh, I've got a couple more dead Heep pics to come. The first day we tried Hummer Hill we couldn't because there were 4 Jeeps stuck in the first 200 feet of the trail. One Jeep was fixing a U-Joint. They got that fixed and were starting up the hill when a different Jeep started up and broke the rear dif and then blew the oil filter off the engine!
Last night I asked my son Reed what Jeeps do. He replied:
"Jeeps get stuck and break down"
It just makes a father proud!

There were actually a couple of dead/scarred jeeps out there that day!
A couple kept us from going up Hummer hill one day(One blown tire and another with a blown engine), another was a broke back jeep cherokee being towed:confused:
But mine kept on truckin':D

It was so dusty in places that you couldn't see the truck in front of you, even with their lights on. On some of the access roads we would drive staggered so that you could see a bit. I got this shot at the very end of the trip and thought it was cool.

There was a group of trucks just driving back and forth in that hole last summer, saying they were lost, do not know how to get back to the front gate.

Pops is going up Hummer Hill in this pic. His drivers side front wheel is just touching down after bouncing over that rock. Its a bummer about the timimg of the pic as just a moment before both front tires were in the air.
Hummer Hill was REALLY rough this time around. AS we went up, the CD changer ejected one of the CD's without anyone touching it! Never had this happen before or since. That trail was really, really rough.

Hey All -
The family and I got back last night after a long day on the road.
I can't wait to see you all again soon!I met the person with the 3 wk old H3.His name is Leon and he had a blast. He didn't know where you folks were from.He said everybody was great and he had a wonderful time.I steered him to this site so you will hear from him soon as he get back from the west coast.

I have them. Steering seems firmer, but the primary reason I did it was as a preventative measure against wearing out my pitman and idler arms. Next time we all get together, it would be interesting to drive each other's H2s a little to compare how they feel with different components.

Does anyone know anywhere else I can upload this that would be immediate? It's about 16 minutes and 690 mb
